When drivi ng down an incline, do so by setting the speed adjustment dial to the slowest setting and driving in the forward direction onl y.

V10 www.pridemobility.com 13 CURB CURB II. SAFETY PUBLIC STREETS AND ROADWAYS WARNING! You should not operate your scoot er on public streets and roadways. Be aware that it may be difficult for traffic to see you when you are seated on your scooter. Obey all local pedestrian traffic rules.
14 www.pridemobility.com V10 II. SAFETY FREEWHEEL MODE Your scooter is equipped with a manual freewheel lever that, when engaged, allows the scooter to be pushed. For more information about how to place your scooter into and out of freewheel mode, see III.
V10 www.pridemobility.com 15 II. SAFETY LIFT/ELEVATION PRODUCTS If you will be transporting your scoot er during travel, you may find it n ecessary to use a vehicle-mounted lift system or elevation product to aid in transportation.
16 www.pridemobility.com V10 II. SAFETY MOTOR VEHICLE TRANSPORT Pride recommends that you do not remain seated in y our scooter while traveling in a motor vehicle. The scooter should be stowed in the trunk of a car or in th e back of a truck or van with the batteries removed and/or properly secured.

20 www.pridemobility.com V10 III. YOUR SCOOTER Status LED The status LED alerts you to electr ical problems that may occur with the scooter. The LED remains con- stantly lit while your scooter is on. If your scooter develops an elect rical problem, the stat us LED will flash a code.

YOUR SCOOTER Throttle Control Lever This lever allows you to control the forward speed and the reverse speed of your scooter up to the maximum speed you preset with the speed adju stment dial. To Move Forward, use either of the following: Use your left thumb to pus h the left side of the throttle control lever.
22 www.pridemobility.com V10 III. YOUR SCOOTER REAR COMPONENTS The batteries, anti-tip wheels, moto r/transaxle assembly, main circuit breaker (reset button), and the man- ual freewheel lever are locat ed on your scooter as shown. See figure 7 . Figure 7.

YOUR SCOOTER Main Circuit Breaker (Reset Button) When the voltage in the batter ies becomes low or your scooter is heavily stra ined because of excessive loads, the main circuit breaker may trip to protect the motor and electronics from damage.
24 www.pridemobility.com V10 III. YOUR SCOOTER SECURING THE SCOOTER Always secure the scooter in a forw ard-facing position in the vehicle. Attach the four tie-down straps to the designated securement points. See figures 9, 9A, and 9B. Tighten the straps to sufficiently remove all slack.
V10 www.pridemobility.com 25 IV. BATTERIES AND CHARGING BATTERIES A ND CHARGING Your scooter requires two l ong-lasting, 12-volt, deep-cyc le batteries that are seal ed and maintenance free. They are recharged by an off-board charging system. Charge your scooter’s batteries prio r to using it for the first time.
26 www.pridemobility.com V10 XLR IV. BATTERIES AND CHARGING Follow these easy steps to change your batteries safely: 1. Position the front of your scooter close to a standard electrical outlet. 2. Remove the key from the key switch. 3. Make sure that the manual fr eewheel lever is in the drive position.
V10 www.pridemobility.com 27 IV. BATTERIES AND CHARGING How often must I charge the batteries? Two major factors must be considered when deciding how often to charge your scooter’s batteries: All day scooter use on a daily basis. Infrequent or sporadic scooter use.
28 www.pridemobility.com V10 IV. BATTERIES AND CHARGING What type and size of battery should I use? We recommend deep-cycle batteries that are sealed a nd maintenance free. Both AGM and Gel-Cell are deep- cycle batteries that are similar in performance.
V10 www.pridemobility.com 29 BATTERY HARNESS CONNECTIONS IV. BATTERIES AND CHARGING NOTE: If you encounter a damaged or cracked battery, immediately en close it in a plastic bag. Contact your local waste disposal agency or your authorized Prid e Provider for instructions on disposal and battery recycling, which is our recommended course of action.
30 www.pridemobility.com V10 Follow these steps to properly break in your scooter’s new batteries for maximum effi ciency and service life: 1. Fully recharge any new battery prior to its initial use. This charging cycle brings the battery up to about 88 % of its peak performance level.

See IV. “Batteries and Charging.” Is the manual freewheel le ver in the drive (rearwar d) position? Neve r leave the manual freewheel lever pushed forward unless you are ma nually pushing your scooter.
32 www.pridemobility.com V10 V. OPERATION Set the speed adjustment dial to your desired speed. Push or pull the appropriate side of the throttle control lever. The electromechanical disc park brake automatica lly disengages and the scoot er accelerates smoothly to the speed you preselected with the speed adjustment dial.
V10 www.pridemobility.com 33 TILLER ANGLE ADJUSTMENT WARNING! Remove the key from the key switch before adjusting the tiller or the seat. Never attempt to adjust the tiller or the seat while the scooter is in motion. Your scooter is equipped wi th an adjustable pivoting tiller.

V10 www.pridemobility.com 35 VI. COMFORT ADJUSTMENTS POWER SEAT ADJUSTMENT Your scooter may be equippe d with a power seat. The pow er seat actuator is designed to raise or lower the seat with minimal effort on the part of the operator. Th e power s eat switch is lo cated on the tiller console.
36 www.pridemobility.com V10 VII. DISASSEMBLY AND ASSEMBLY DISASSEMBLY You can disassemble the scooter into several pieces: the seat, the front section, the rear section, the battery shroud (if eq uipped), the basket, and the batteries or battery boxes.

38 www.pridemobility.com V10 Any electromechanical device occasionally requires some troubleshooti ng. However, most of the prob- lems that may arise can usually be solved with a bi t of thought and common sense.
V10 www.pridemobility.com 39 VIII. BASIC TROUBLESHOOTING What if my scooter does not move wh en I engage the throttle control lever? When the manual freewheel lever is pushed forward, the brakes are disengaged and all power to the motor/transaxle assembly is cut.
40 www.pridemobility.com V10 Your scooter requires a mi nimal amount of care and ma intenance. If you do not feel confident in your ability to perform the maintenan ce listed below, you ma y schedule inspection a nd maintenance at your authorized Pride Provi der.
V10 www.pridemobility.com 41 IX. CARE AND MAINTENANCE WHEEL REPLACEMENT If your scooter is equipped with pneumatic tires and you have a flat ti re, you can have th e tube replaced. If your scooter is equipped with a solid tire insert, either the solid insert or the entir e wheel must be replaced depending on th e model.
42 www.pridemobility.com V10 IX. CARE AND MAINTENANCE FUSE REPLACEMENT In the event a fuse should cease to work: 1. Remove the fuse by pulling it out of its slot. 2. Examine the fuse to be sure it is blown. See figures 25 and 25A . 3. Insert a new fuse of the same rating.
