Never use your power chair to negotiate steps or escalators. Doors ! Determine if the door opens toward or away from you.

Jazzy Select 7 ww w .pr idemobility .com 21 III. YOUR POWER CHAIR Active-T rac System Y our power chair is equipped with an Active-T rac System (A TS). See figure 10. A TS is a suspension system designed to make your power chair traverse dif ferent types of terrain and obstacles while maintaining smooth operation.
22 www .pr idemobility .com Jazzy Select 7 INITIAL ASSEMBL Y Y our power chair may require some assembly either before initial use or after transportation. It may also require disassembly to make some comfort adjustments. NOTE: Any nylon insert lock nut removed during the disassembly or adjustment of the power chair must be replaced with a new nut.

SER VICE Dismantling Y our Power Chair Y our power chair can be dismantled into eight component assemblies (including the seat) to facilitate servicing the unit. See figure 13. The seat assembly , foot platform, and battery boxes can be removed with no tools required.

Disconnect the controller cable from its connector on the power base. See figure 6. Y ou may need to pull firmly and gently wiggle the connector .
Jazzy Select 7 ww w .pr idemobility .com 25 4 . Remove the foot platform by lifting it up, then pulling it out away from the chair . See figure 15. 5 . Disconnect both battery connectors and both motor connectors. See figure 7. 6. Lift and remove each battery box.
26 www .pr idemobility .com Jazzy Select 7 Assembly T o assemble the power chair: 1. Place the three frame assemblies next to each other as shown in figure 20. 2. Grasp the front frame and fit the notch on the front frame bottom bar onto the locating pin on the lower section of the power base frame assembly .

COMFORT ADJUSTMENTS COMFORT ADJUSTMENTS After becoming familiar with your power chair ’ s operation, you may find the need to make some adjustments to increase your comfort, such as seat height and angle, armrest angle, foot platform height and angle, and controller position.
Jazzy Select 7 ww w .pr idemobility .com 29 VI. COMFORT ADJUSTMENTS Seat Position Y ou can move the seat forward or rearward by changing the ex- trusion mounting position. T o change the seat position: 1. T urn off the power to the controller . 2. Unplug the controller connector from the power base.
30 www .pr idemobility .com Jazzy Select 7 T o change the armrest width: 1. Locate the two armrest knobs on each side of the armrest re- ceiver bracket. See figure 24. 2. Loosen the knobs. 3. Slide the armrests in or out to the desired width. 4. Tighten the knobs.
Jazzy Select 7 ww w .pr idemobility .com 31 2. Raise or lower the foot platform to the desired height. 3. Reinstall the quick release fastener into the foot platform bracket and tighten. Foot Platform Angle Adjustment Y ou can adjust the angle of the foot platform with a hex key and wrench.

34 www .pr idemobility .com Jazzy Select 7 VII. BA TTERIES AND CHAR GING BA TTERIES AND CHAR GING Y our power chair uses two long-lasting, 12-volt, deep-cycle batteries. These batteries are sealed and maintenance free. Since they are sealed, there is no need to check the electrolyte (fluid) level.

If this happens, call your authorized Pride Provider for assistance. How often must I charge the batteries? Many factors come into play when deciding how often to charge the batteries.

Like any motorized vehicle, it requires routine maintenance checks. Y ou can perform some of these checks, but others require assistance from your authorized Pride Provider .
