When driv ing down an incline, do so by setting the speed adjustment dial to the slowest setting and driving in the fo rward direction only.

If sud- denly caught up in rain, snow, severe cold or heat while operating your scooter, proc eed to shelter at the earliest opportunity.

If you are in the doorway of a elevator when the door(s) begin to close, push on the rubber door edge or allow the rubber door edge to contac t the scooter and the door will reopen.

17 Celebrity X LE www.pridemobility.com REACHING A ND BENDING Avoid reaching or bending while driving your scooter . Bending forward creates the risk of accidental throttle control lever contact. Bending to the side wh ile seated creates the risk of tipping.

YOUR SCOOTER Safety Flag Br acket (Optional) An accessory bracket for in stalling an optional safety flag is mounted near each anti-tip wheel and also on the seatback hinge.
23 Celebrity X LE www.pridemobility.com Main Circuit Breaker (Reset Button) When the voltage in the batteries becomes low or your scoo ter is heavily strained because of excessive loads, the main circuit breaker may trip to protect the motor and electronics from damage.

Plug the charger directly into a properly wired stan dard electrical outlet. PROHIBITED! Removal of the grounding prong can create an electrical hazard.
25 Celebrity X LE www.pridemobility.com Follow these easy steps to charge your batteries safely: 1. Position your scooter close to a standard electrical outlet. 2. Remove the key fr om the key switch. 3. Make certain that the manua l freewheel lever is in the drive (down) position.
26 w w w . p r i d e m o b i l i t y . c o m Celebrity X LE How often must I ch arge the batteries? Two major factors must be consid ered when deciding how often to charge your scooter’s batteries: All day scooter use on a daily basis. Infrequent or sporadic scooter use.
27 Celebrity X LE www.pridemobility.com NOTE: Sealed batteries are not serv iceable. Do not remove the caps. How do I change a battery in my scooter? MANDATORY! Battery posts, terminals, and related accessories contain lead and lead compounds. Wear goggles and gloves when handling batteries and wash hands after handling.

See IV. “Batteries and Charging.” Is the manual freewheel le ver in the drive (rearwar d) position? Neve r leave the manual freewheel lever pushed forward unless you are ma nually pushing your scooter.
30 w w w . p r i d e m o b i l i t y . c o m Celebrity X LE V. OPERATION The electromechanical disc park brake automatica lly disengages and the scoot er accelerates smoothly to the speed you preselected with the speed adjustment dial. Pull on the left handgrip to st eer your scooter to the left.

32 w w w . p r i d e m o b i l i t y . c o m Celebrity X LE SEAT SLIDING LEVER VI. COMFORT ADJUSTMENTS To adjust your scooter’s reclining seat, perform these steps. See figure 16. 1. With your back pressed up against the seatback, lift up on the seatback adjustment lever and lean forward or backward to adjust the seatback angle.
33 Celebrity X LE www.pridemobility.com POSITIONING BELT (OPTIONAL) Your scooter seat may be equipped with an auto-type positioning belt that can be adjusted for operator comfort. See figure 19 . The positioning belt is designed to help support the operator so that he/she does not slide down or forward in the seat.
34 w w w . p r i d e m o b i l i t y . c o m Celebrity X LE 1. Place the scooter in drive mode by engaging the freewheel lever. 2. Lock the tiller in the straight ahead position by pus hing the tiller lock knob in and turning it clockwise 90°. See figure 21 .
35 Celebrity X LE www.pridemobility.com 7. Unfasten the battery tie-down straps and remove the batteries from the battery wells. 8. Squeeze the tiller adju stment lever and lower the tiller to its lowest point.

37 Celebrity X LE www.pridemobility.com VIII. BASIC TROUBLESHOOTING What if my scooter does not move wh en I engage the throttle control lever? When the manual freewheel lever is pushed forward, the br akes are disengaged a nd all power to the motor/transaxle assembly is cut.

39 Celebrity X LE www.pridemobility.com AXLE BEARINGS AND THE MOTOR/ TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY You do not need to lubricate these items, as they are all prelubricated and sealed. MOTOR BRUSHES The motor brushes are housed inside of the motor transaxle/assembly.
40 w w w . p r i d e m o b i l i t y . c o m Celebrity X LE NYLON LOCK NUT REPLACEMENT Any nylon insert lock nut removed during the periodi c maintenance, assembly, or disassembly of the scooter must be replaced with a new nut. Nylon insert lock nuts should not be reused as it may cause damage to the nylon insert, resulting in a less secure fit.
41 Celebrity X LE www.pridemobility.com STORING YOUR SCOOTER If you plan on not using your scooter for an extended period of time , it is best to: 1. Fully charge its batteries prior to storage. 2. Disconnect the batteries from the scooter. 3. Store your scooter in a warm, dry environment.
