Use only AGM or Gel-Cell batteries to reduce the risk of leaka ge or explosive conditions. Do not use a cell phone, walkie/talkie, l aptop, or other radio transmitter while operating.

Removal of grounding prong can create el ectrical hazard. If necessary, properly install an approved 3-pronged adapter to an electrical outlet having 2-pronged plug access.

10 www.pridem obility.com Wrangler II. SAFETY Perform the following inspectio ns prior to using your PMV: Check for proper tire inflation. Main tain but do not exceed the psi/bar/k Pa air pressure rating indicated on each tire if equippe d with pneumatic tires.
11 Wrangler www.pridemobility.com II. SAFETY When climbing an incline, try to keep your PMV m oving. If you must stop, start up again slowly, and then accelerate cautiously. When driving dow n an inc line, do so by setting the speed adjus tment dial to the slowest setting and driving in the forward direction only.

SAFETY OUTDOOR DRIVING SURFACES Your PMV is designed to provide optimum stability under normal drivi ng conditions - dry, level surfaces composed of concrete, blacktop, or asphalt. However, Pride recognizes that there will be times when you will encounter other surface types.
14 www.pridem obility.com Wrangler FREEWHEEL MODE Your PMV is equipped with manua l freewheel levers that, when pushed down, allow the PMV to be pushed. For more information about how to place your PMV into and out of free wheel mode, see III. “Your PMV.
15 Wrangler www.pridemobility.com ELEVATORS Modern elevators have a door edge safety mechanism that, when pushed, reopens the door(s). If you are in the doorway of an elev ator when the door(s) begin to close, push on th e rubber door edge or allow the rubber door edge to contact the PMV and the door will reopen.
16 www.pridem obility.com Wrangler GETTING ONTO AND OFF OF YOUR PMV Getting onto and off of your PMV re quires a good sense of balance. Pl ease observe the following safety tips when getting onto and off of your PMV: Remove the key from the key switch.
17 Wrangler www.pridemobility.com PRESCRIPTION DRUGS/PH YSICAL LIMITATIONS The PMV user must exercise care and common sense when operating hi s/her PMV. This includes aware- ness of safety issues when taking prescribed or ove r-the-counter drugs or when the user has specific phys- ical limitations.

20 www.pridem obility.com Wrangler Battery Condition Meter When the key is fully inserted in to the key switch, this meter indi cates the approximate battery voltage strength. For further information on battery charging, see IV. “Batteries and Charging.
21 Wrangler www.pridemobility.com Main Circuit Br eaker (Reset Button) When the voltage in your PMV’s ba tteries becomes low or your PMV is heavily strained because of excessive loads, the main circui t breaker may trip to protect your PMV’s motor and electronics from damage.
22 www.pridem obility.com Wrangler III. YOUR PMV Charger Power Cord The charger power cord is connect ed to the PMV’s onboard battery ch arger. When plugged into an elec- trical outlet, it will charge the PMV’s batteries.

If necessary, properly install an approved 3-pronged adapter to an electrical outlet having 2-pronged plug access. PROHIBITED! Never use an extension cord to plug in your battery charger.
24 www.pridem obility.com Wrangler IV. BATTERIES AND CHARGING WARNING! If your battery charger has not bee n tested and approved for outdoor use, then do not expose it to adverse or extreme weather conditions.
25 Wrangler www.pridemobility.com IV. BATTERIES AND CHARGING With these considerations in mind, you can determ ine just how often and fo r how long you should charge your PMV’s batteries.
26 www.pridem obility.com Wrangler To remove the batteries: 1. Remove the seat and rear shroud. 2. Disconnect all the cables fr om the battery terminals.
27 Wrangler www.pridemobility.com IV. BATTERIES AND CHARGING Please follow these steps to pr operly break in your PMV’s new batt eries for maximum efficiency and service life: 1. Fully recharge any new battery prior to its initial us e. This initial charging cycle br ings the batteries up to about 88% of their peak performance level.
28 www.pridem obility.com Wrangler V. OPERATION BEFORE GETTING ONTO YOUR PMV Have you fully charged the batterie s? See IV. “Batteries and Charging.” Are the manual freewheel levers in the drive positi on? See III. “Your PMV.” Never leave the freewheel levers pushed down unless you are manually pushing your PMV.
29 Wrangler www.pridemobility.com Pull on the left handgrip to steer your PMV to the le ft, or pull on the right handgrip to steer your PMV to the right. Move the tiller to the center pos ition to drive straight ahead. Gently release the throttle control lever to deceler ate and come to a complete stop.
30 www.pridem obility.com Wrangler LOCATING HOLES VI. COMFORT ADJUSTMENTS TILLER ANGLE ADJUSTMENT You can adjust the tiller angle to four different positions. 1. Pull up on the tiller adjustment lever. See figure 9 . 2. Move the tiller to a comfortable position.

Seatback and Headre st Adjustments HIGH-BACK SEAT HE ADREST ADJUSTMENT If your PMV is equipped with a high-back seat, the head- rest height can be adjusted to several positions.
32 www.pridem obility.com Wrangler VI. COMFORT ADJUSTMENTS ARMREST ANGLE ADJUSTMENT The armrests of your PM V can be adjusted upward or downward by turn- ing the adjustment dial. See figure 14 . The armrests also pivot upward to make getting on a nd off of your PMV easier.
33 Wrangler www.pridemobility.com VII. DISASSEMBLY AND ASSEMBLY Seat To remove the PMV’s seat, see VI. “Comfort Adjustments.” Rear Shroud To remove the rear shroud: 1. Remove the seat from your PMV. See figure 10 . 2. Lift the shroud up and over the seat post.
34 www.pridem obility.com Wrangler VIII. BASIC TROUBLESHOOTING Any electromechanical device occasi onally requires some troubleshoot ing. However, most of the prob- lems that may arise can usually be solved with a bit of thought and common sense.
35 Wrangler www.pridemobility.com IX. CARE AND MAINTENANCE Your PMV requires a min imal amount of care and mainte nance. If you do not feel confident in your ability to perform the maintenance listed below, you may schedule inspection and maintenance at your authorized Pride Provider.
36 www.pridem obility.com Wrangler IX. CARE AND MAINTENANCE WIRING HARNESSES Regularly check all wiring connections. Regularly check all wiring insu lation, including the charger power cord, for wear or damage.
37 Wrangler www.pridemobility.com IX. CARE AND MAINTENANCE STORING YOUR PMV If you plan on not using your PMV for an extended period of time, it is best to: 1. Fully charge its batteries prior to storage. 2. Disconnect the batte ries from the PMV. 3. Store your PMV in a warm, dry environment.
