6 ASSEMBL Y / PRE-OPERA TION INST ALL A UGER CONTROL R OD (See Figs. 5 and 6) The auger control rod has the shor t loop on the end of the spring as shown. 1. Slide rubber slee ve up rod and hook end of spring into control ar m with loop opening up as sho wn.
7 ASSEMBL Y / PRE-OPERA TION INST ALL WEIGHT BA G (See Fig. 10) Though seldom required, the weight bag will re duce the ten den cy of the auger housing to ride up on hard, icy dr ifts. Should conditions require it, install as f ollows: 1. Shut off engine and wait f or all moving par ts to stop .

9 MEETS A.N.S.I. SAFETY REQUIREMENTS Our snow thro wers conform to the standards of the American National Standards Institute. 11 OPERA TION T O THRO W SNO W (See Fig. 16) The auger rotation is controlled by the auger control le ver located on the right side handle. • Squeeze auger control le ver to handle to engage the auger and throw sno w . • Release the auger control le ver to stop thro wing snow .

14 MAINTENANCE LUBRICA TION CHART GENERAL REC OM MEN DA TIONS The warranty on this sno w thrower does not co ver items that hav e been sub ject ed to operator abuse or negligence. T o receive full v alue from the warranty , operator must maintain snow thro wer as in str uct ed in this manual.
15 MAINTENANCE V -BEL TS Check V -belts f or deterioration and wear after e ver y 50 hours of operation and replace if necessary . The belts are not ad just able. Replace belts if they begin to slip from wear . (See “T O REMO VE BEL T CO VER” in the Ser vice and Adjustments section of this manual).
16 SER VICE AND ADJUSTMENTS W ARNING: T o a void serious injury , before perf orming any service or ad- just ments: 1. Be sure thr ottle is in STOP position. 2. Remove safety ignition ke y . 3. Make sure the augers and all mo v ing parts have completely stopped.
17 SER VICE AND ADJUSTMENTS T O REPLA CE BEL TS (See Fig. 23) The auger and traction drive belts are not adjustab le. If the belts are damaged or begin to slip from wear , the y should be replaced. It is recommended that the belt(s) be replaced by a qualifi ed service center .
18 ST ORA GE Immediately prepare your sno w thrower f or storage at the end of the season or if the unit will not be used for 30 da ys or more. W ARNING: Never store the sno w thro wer with gaso line .
