4- ENG A10055 WARNING: Risk of Bursting Air T ank: The following conditions could lead to a weakening of the tank, and result in a violent tank explosion and could cause pr operty damage or serious injury .
5- ENG A10055 WARNING: Risk to Breathing WARNING: Risk of Electrical Shock HAZARD HAZARD Y our air compressor is powered by electricity . Like any other electrically powered device, If it is not used properly it may cause electric shock. Repairs attempted by unqualified personnel can result in serious injury or death by electrocution.
6- ENG A10055 WARNING: Risk of Bur ns T ouching exposed metal such as the compressor head or outlet tubes, can result in serious burns. Never touch any exposed metal parts on compressor during or immediately after operation. Compressor will r emain hot for several minutes after operation.

9- ENG A10055 T o Add Oil T o Pump Risk of Unsafe Operation. DO NOT A TTEMPT TO OPERA TE THIS AIR COMPRESSOR WITHOUT FIRST ADDING OIL TO THE CRANKCASE. Serious damage can r esult from even limited operation unless filled with oil and br oken in correctly .
10- ENG A10055 INST ALLA TION GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS RISK OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK. In the event of a short circuit, grounding reduces the risk of shock by providing an escape wire for the electric current.
11- ENG A10055 Extension Cor ds Using extension cords is not recommended. The use of extension cor ds will cause voltage to dr op resulting in power loss to the motor and overheating. Instead of using an extension cor d, increase the working r each of the air hose by attaching another length of hose to its end.

13- ENG A10055 Dipstick : Indicates the amount of oil in the pump, the + mark indicates full and the - mark indicates oil needs to be added. See Oil paragraphs in the Maintenance section for instructions. Motor Thermal Overload Pr otector (not shown): The motor has an automatic reset thermal overload protector .
14- ENG A10055 How to Start: 1. T urn the On/Auto/Off lever to "ON/AUTO" and allow tank pressure to build. Motor will stop when tank pr essure reaches "cut-out" pressur e. 2. Pull the regulator knob out and turn clockwise to incr ease pr essure.

16- ENG A10055 5. Drain water from air tank by opening drain valve (counter -clockwise) on bottom of tank. Risk of Bursting. W ater will condense in the air tank. If not drained, water will corrode and weaken the air tank causing a risk of air tank rupture.
17- ENG A10055 Air Filter - Inspection and Replacement Risk of Burns. Compressor head and cylinder sleeve are very hot. Do not touch. Allow compressor to cool prior to servicing. A dirty air filter will not allow the compressor to operate at full capacity .
18- ENG A10055 T o Replace or Clean Check V alve 1. Releas e all a ir pressu re fr om air tank. See "T o Drain T ank" in the Mainte nance sectio n. 2. Unplug unit. 3. Using an adjustab le wrench loosen outlet tube n ut at ai r tank and pu mp.
19- ENG A10055 STORAGE Before you stor e the air compr essor , make sur e you do the following: 1. Review the "Maintenance" section on the preceding pages and perform scheduled maintenance as necessary . 2. Set the On/Auto/Off lever to "OFF" and unplug unit.
20- ENG A10055 TROUBLESHOOTING PROBLEM CAUSE CORRECTION Pressur e switch does not shut off motor when compressor reaches "cut- out" pr essure. Pressur e switch "cut-out" too high. Move On/Auto/Of f lever to the "OFF" position, if the unit does not shut of f contact a T rained Service T echnician.
21- ENG A10055 PROBLEM CAUSE CORRECTION Compressor is not supplying enough air to operate accessories. Pressur e reading on the regulated pressur e gauge (if equipped) drops when an accessory is used. It is normal for "some" pressur e drop to occur .
22- ENG A10055 PROBLEM CAUSE CORRECTION Motor will not run. Fuse blown, circuit breaker tripped. 1. Check fuse box for blown fuse and replace as necessary . Reset circuit breaker . Do not use a fuse or circuit breaker with higher rating than that specified for your particular branch circuit.
23- ENG A10055 PROBLEM CAUSE CORRECTION Knocking Noise. Possible defect in safety valve. Operate safety valve manually by pulling on ring. If valve still leaks, it should be replaced. Compressor mounting screws loose. Tighten mounting screws,s ee Parts manual for tor que specifications.
