4- ENG A02233 WARNING: Risk of Bursting Air T ank: The following conditions could lead to a weakening of the tank, and result in a violent tank explosion and could cause property damage or serious injury .
5- ENG A02233 WARNING: Risk to Br eathing WARNING: Risk of Electrical Shock HAZARD HAZARD Y our air compressor is powered by electricity . Like any other electrically powered device, If it is not used properly it may cause electric shock. Repairs attempted by unqualified personnel can result in serious injury or death by electrocution.
6- ENG A02233 WARNING: Risk of Burns T ouching exposed metal such as the compressor head or outlet tubes, can result in serious burns. Never touch any exposed metal parts on compressor during or immediately after operation. Compressor will r emain hot for several minutes after operation.
7- ENG A02233 Review and understand all instructions and war nings in this manual. Become familiar with the operation and controls of the air compr essor . Keep operating area clear of all persons, pets, and obstacles. Keep children away fr om the air compressor at all times .
8- ENG A02233 GLOSSAR Y Become familiar with these terms before operating the unit. CFM : Cubic feet per minute. SCFM: Standard cubic feet per minute; a unit of measur e of air delivery . PSIG: Pounds per square inch gauge; a unit of measur e of pressur e.
9- ENG A02233 Accessories for this unit are available at the stor e the unit was purchased. ACCESSORIES ASSEMBL Y HANDLE ASSEMBL Y 1. T o make installation easier , submer ge handle grip (C) into warm soapy water . Remove handle grip (C) from soapy water and slide onto handle (D).
T o Add Oil T o Pump DO NOT A TTEMPT TO OPERA TE THIS AIR COMPRESSOR WITHOUT FIRST ADDING OIL TO THE CRANKCASE. Serious damage can result fr om even limited operation unless filled with oil and broken in corr ectly . Make sure to closely follow initial start-up procedur es.
11- ENG A02233 GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS RISK OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK. In the event of a short circuit, gr ounding reduces the risk of shock by pr oviding an escape wire for the electric curr ent.
12- ENG A02233 Extension Cords Use extra air hose instead of an extension cord to avoid voltage dr op and power loss to the motor , and to pr event overheating.
13- ENG A02233 OPERA TION Know Y our Air Compressor READ THIS OWNER’S MANUAL AND SAFETY RULES BEFORE OPERA TING YOUR UNIT . Compare the illustrations with your unit to familiarize yourself with the location of various controls and adjustments. Save this manual for futur e refer ence.
14- ENG A02233 Dipstick : Indicates the amount of oil in the pump, the + mark indicates full and the - mark indicates oil needs to be added. See Oil paragraphs in the Maintenance section for instructions. Motor Thermal Overload Protector (not shown): The motor has an automatic reset thermal overload pr otector .
15- ENG A02233 How to Start: 1. T urn the On/Auto/Off lever to “AUTO” and allow tank pr essure to build. Motor will stop when tank pressur e reaches “cut-out” pr essure. 2. Pull the regulator knob out and turn clockwise to increase pr essure. When the desired pr essure is r eached push knob in to lock in place.

17- ENG A02233 5. Drain water from air tank by opening drain valve (counter -clockwise) on bottom of tank. W ater will condense in the air tank. If not drained, water will corrode and weaken the air tank causing a risk of air tank rupture. 6. After the water has been drained, close the drain valve (clockwise).
18- ENG A02233 Air Filter - Inspection and Replacement Hot surfaces. Risk of burn. Compressor heads are exposed when filter cover is removed. Allow compr essor to cool prior to servicing. A dirty air filter will not allow the compressor to operate at full capacity .
19- ENG A02233 SERVICE AND ADJUSTMENTS Unit cycles automatically when power is on. When doing Maintenance, you may be exposed to voltage sources, compressed air or moving parts. Personal injuries can occur . Before performing any Maintenance or repair , unplug the compressor and bleed off all air pr essure.
20- ENG A02233 STORAGE Before you stor e the air compressor , make sure you do the following: 1. Review the "Maintenance" section on the preceding pages and perform scheduled maintenance as necessary . 2. Set the On/Auto/Off lever to “OFF”.
21- ENG A02233 TROUBLESHOOTING Performing repairs may expose voltage sour ces, moving parts or compressed air sour ces, moving parts or compressed air sour ces. Personal injury may occur . Prior to attempting any repairs, unplug the air compr essor and bleed off all air tank air pressur e.
22- ENG A02233 PROBLEM CAUSE CORRECTION Compressor is not supplying enough air to operate accessories. Prolonged excessive use of air . Compressor is not lar ge enough for air requir ement. Hole in hose. Check valve restricted. Air leaks. Restricted air intake filter Decrease amount of air usage.
23- ENG A02233 PROBLEM CAUSE CORRECTION Motor will not run. Fuse blown, circuit br eaker tripped. 1. Check fuse box for blown fuse and replace as necessary . Reset circuit breaker . Do not use a fuse or circuit br eaker with higher rating than that specified for your particular branch circuit.
PROBLEM CAUSE CORRECTION Knocking Noise. Possible defect in safety valve. Operate safety valve manually by pulling on ring. If valve still leaks, it should be replaced. Compressor mounting screws loose Tighten mounting screws,see Parts manual for torque specifications.
