2 Safety Fir st VENTILA TION CAUTION When installing this unit, make sure to leave space around the unit for ventilation to improve heat radiation (at least 8 cm at top, 5 cm at rear , and 5 cm at each side).
3 ST ANDBY/ON Button ST ANDBY : When set to the ST ANDBY position, the main power flow is cut and the unit is no longer fully operational. A minute flow of power feeds the unit to maintain operation readiness. ST ANDBY Indicator The red indicator is lit when the unit is in the standby mode.

6 Chapter 1: Intr oduction Digital High Definition T uner's Functions The SH-DT510 digital High Definition tuner opens up a ne w world of free-to- air terrestrial programming. This tuner can receive channels from VHF/UHF band TV station's digital signals.
7 System Menus All the tuner's f eatures can be accessed through the system menus. These menus can be accessed with simple point and clic k actions, using the navigation and select b uttons on the RCU. The men us include items such as T ransmission P arameter Configuration, Channel List, A udio Options, and P arental Loc k.
8 Menu T ree Note: Y ou need to enter a " P assw ord " to access some of the functionality in the menu. P ass word is initially set to "0000".
9 Chapter 2: Installation Introduction If y our ser vice provider or system installer has already set up the antenna and connected the tuner , then you can star t the operations specified in Chapter 4.
10 Functions Of RCU Buttons The b uttons on the remote control are described as follows: • ST ANDBY/ON: Switches the tuner between ON and ST ANDBY modes. • Numeric Buttons: For entering channel number or pass word. • INFO: Displays i-Plate pro viding inf or mation about the current channel.

16 Chapter 3: Channel Setting Introduction After finishing the hardw are installation as descr ibed in Chapter 2, s witch on the tuner . It will displa y Data base is Empty and instruct you to press the "MENU" button on the remote control. The f ollowing menu will be displa yed after pressing the "MENU" b utton.
17 INST ALLA TION • INST ALLA TION MENU gives 4 different sub-menu. QUICK SCAN A UTO SCAN MANU AL SCAN CLEAR ALL D A T A QUICK SCAN If y ou live in one of the cities or regions listed in the Q UICK SCAN menu, select your city or region and start scanning all digital TV channel signals .
18 A UT O SCAN A uto Scan searches f or digital programs on all channels , 5 to 69, through the VHF and UHF bands. • Select A UTO SCAN and pr ess "ENTER" button. • Select YES then press "ENTER" button to start channel sear ch. • The tuner starts scanning fr om channel 5 to channel 69.
19 MANU AL SCAN Manual Scan search the channel based on user request frequency and bandwidth. • On the Installation page, select MANU AL SCAN and press "ENTER" button. • Select channel number . Be sure you know the channel number and its RF frequency .
20 General Setting • Selecting SET UP will display this sub-menu. TIME SETUP A UDIO SETUP i - PLA TE SETUP SOFTW ARE TIME SETUP • TIME SETUP sets the time in "TIME ZONE". Use the " "and " " buttons to select the local time zone you ar e located in and press the "ENTER" button.

22 SOFTW ARE • When you select the SOFTW ARE menu, there ar e two sub-menus displayed: CURRENT VERSION INST ALL NEW S/W INST ALL NEW S/W • Service use only CURRENT VERSION • Under the CURRENT VERSION sub- menu, the ID number of installed hardwar e and software versions of the tuner are display ed.
23 Chapter 4: Using the T uner Introduction Once the channels are downloaded, y ou can start enjoying the full range of video and audio progr ams. Operating the tuner is e xtremely easy . Y ou can control the show tuner directly from the F ront P anel or with the RCU as described below .
24 Selecting F av orite Channels • Under the "CH SETUP" sub-menu, you can select "SELECT F A V ORITE" to set up fa vorite channels. • Use " " and " " b uttons to select the channel, use " " and " " buttons to select "F A V .
25 P ARENT AL GUID ANCE • Under CH SETUP sub-menu, you can select P ARENT AL GUID ANCE to block pro grams. • Use " " and " " buttons to select the Rating, press "ENTER" b utton to confirm the setting .
26 i-PLA TE (INFORMA TION PLA TE) • While watching DTV you can press the "INFO" button to acti vate extended program inf ormation. • The i-PLA TE will pop up with the follo wing informat.
27 TELETEXT / Closed Caption • When the i-PLA TE indicated that T eletext / Closed Caption data is av ailable on the current channel, y ou can press the " TTX " button on the remote contr ol to display it on the TV screen. • 4 Colour buttons ar e assigned f or TTX.
28 SLEEP When the selected time elapses, the Sleep Timer automatically places the system into the standb y mode. Press "SLEEP" button to select the desired time . • The timer starts counting. • T o cancel the Sleep T imer , select "OFF" by pressing "SLEEP" b utton.
