C4675M (2/11 ) 9 FRONT PANEL The unit’ s front panel inclu des indicators and controls. The co ntrols let you perform most unit functio ns without the remote co ntrol or mouse (refer to Figure 2). For infor mation on using the remote control, refe r to Remote Control on page 13.

C4675M (2/11 ) 15 Installation EQUIPMENT PLACEMENT The unit ca n be placed on any flat surface (desk or tabl e). Rack mountin g hardware is p rovided for mo unting the unit in an equi pmen t rack. Position the unit to allow for cable and power cord clearance at the re ar of the unit.
16 C4675M (2/11) CONNECTING ANALOG CAMERAS DX4708/DX4808 units support up to eight analo g cameras and two IP cameras. DX47 16/DX4816 units support up to sixt een analog and two IP cameras. Be sur e to disconne ct power from each camera befo re connecting it to the un it.
C4675M (2/11 ) 17 CONNECTING SERIAL PTZ The unit ha s two RS-485 po rts on the rea r panel. Y ou can co nnect multiple P TZ devices in a daisy chain fro m either port . Be sur e to disconnect power from any camera be fore connecting its data leads to the un it.
18 C4675M (2/11) CONNECTING ALARM DEVICES The unit pr ovides a number ed terminal block for conn ecting up to four alarm de vices. Y ou can c onfigure alar ms for normally open or nor mally closed oper ation. C4675M (2/11 ) 19 CONNECTING A RELAY OUTPUT The unit pr ovides a sing le terminal b lock for con necting up to four relay d evices. The relay output is not config urable; it ope rates as a normally open circuit . A signal from th e relay output will operate t he relay device.
20 C4675M (2/11) CONNECTING USB DEVICES The unit has one high speed USB 2.0 port on the front panel and two high speed USB 2.0 ports on the rear panel. Y ou can use a U SB flash drive to upgrade the un it software or to export video. Y ou can use a USB hard disk drive to back up video data.
C4675M (2/11 ) 21 INSTALLING CLIENT SOFTWARE The unit includes the client, e xport viewer , and emerg ency agen t software applications. The re commended system requirements for thes e applications ar.

The DX Series clien t can send live aud io to the server . It can also rec eive live aud io/video and pla y back audio/vi deo from the s erver simultaneou sly .
