Camera The built-in camera allows picture taking or video recording . Can be used with video c onferencing and other interactive applications .

18 Notebook PC User Manual Right Side 1 2 Po wer Indicator The power indicator lights when the Not ebook PC is turned ON and blinks slowly when the Notebook PC is in the Suspend-to-RAM (Sleep) mode. This indicator is OFF when the Notebook PC is turned OFF or in the Suspend-to-Disk (Hibernation) mode.

22 Notebook PC User Manual Power System Using A C Po wer The Notebook PC pow er is comprised of two par ts, the power adapter and the battery power system. The power adapt er conv er ts AC pow er from a wall outlet to the DC pow er required by the Notebook PC.

30 Notebook PC User Manual Emergency Shutdown In case your operating syst em cannot properly turn OFF or restar t, there is an additional way t o shutdown your Notebook PC: • Hold the power button ov er 4 seconds. DO NO T use emergency shutdown while data is being written; doing so can result in loss or destruction of your data.

Notebook PC User Manual 39 Using the t ouchpad The touchpad allows y ou to use one-finger and multi-finger gestures to mov e the pointer so you can select and click items, rotate and zoom images, scroll lists, as well as swipe and switch between windows.

T ouchpad usage illustra tions T apping - T apping on the touchpad allows you to select items onscreen and open files. Clicking - Clicking on the touchpad simulates the functions of the left mouse button and right mouse button.
Notebook PC User Manual 41 Rotating - Rotating images clockwise or counterclockwise is done on the touchpad by using two fingers . T o rotate an image , place two fingers on the t ouchpad then turn one finger clockwise or counterclockwise while the other stays still.
42 Notebook PC User Manual The touchpad responds to mo vement not to f orce. There is no need to tap the surface too hard. T apping too hard does not increase the responsiveness of the t ouchpad. The touchpad responds best to light pressur e. Caring f or the touchpad The touchpad is pressur e sensitive.

Notebook PC User Manual 59 Instant On Instant On is a default-enabled featur e in your ASUS Notebook PC that allows y ou to save batt er y power while your Not ebook PC is on deep sleep mode (Deep S3). It also shows how long your Notebook PC can run on standby using these two batt er y saving modes: P er formance mode and Battery saving mode .
60 Notebook PC User Manual Battery saving mode The battery saving mode enables longer standby times , allowing the battery to last for up to thirt y (30) days or more . When you enable this function, the system can return to its last working state in as fast as seven seconds , four hours after your Notebook PC has entered int o deep sleep mode.
