4 VCR Operation • Se t [VCR /TV ] swit ch (22) to [VCR]. (1) [VCR-ON/OFF] (2) [Numeric] To select t he programme positions (1-99). • Example: To enter num bers for vario us settings.
5 Setting the Remote Control to Operate Your TV You can o perate t he TVs of th e manufa cturers listed b elow with the rem ote cont rol after se tting it. This settin g procedure all ows you to operate the TVs of some manufac turers u sing the supplied remote c ontrol.
6 Tuning the TV to Your VCR The VCR s upplies a signal to the TV via the RF coaxia l cab le on chann el A U28-69 or NZ21 -69. It is poss ible to vie w the vide o picture on your TV in th e same way that y ou watc h TV broadc asts.
7 Storing TV Bro adcasts in Your VCR The VCR is fi tted with its own tuner (j ust like a norm al TV) and can be p reset to receive up to 99 T V broadcas t stations . Pre-programmed TV Channels (NV -HV60GL/A ustralia) The local T V broadca st chann els 2, 7, 9, 10 and 28 are factory-preset in this VCR.
8 Manual Tuning Procedure 1 Pre ss [MENU] (7) to disp lay the Main menu on the TV scre en. 2 Pre ss [Cursor] (37) ( 34 ) to select [TUNER PRESET] then pr ess [OK] (23) . 3 Pre ss [Cursor] (37) ( 34 ) to select [CH] then select the channel nu mber you want to tune by pressing [Curs or] (37) ( 21 ).
9 Setting the Clock of You r VCR In the ev ent of a power failu re, the clock wil l operate on its back up s ystem for a m inimum of 3 ye ars. After 3 years, clo ck back up in the ev ent of a power fail ure can only be guarantee d for maxi mum of 1 hour.

13 To Playback in the Desire d Picture Q uality (Picture Mode) This func tion r eproduces optimum pl ayback pictur e from various kind of recorded tapes an d contents . Press [PICTURE MODE] (29) and select th e corre sponding Picture M ode as fol lows.
14 To Display the Approxim ate Remaining Tape Time The rem aining tape ti me can be display ed in t he VCR displa y. 1 Selec t [TAPE SELECT] from the On Screen Displ ay and select th e corresponding video cas sette tape le ngth. See page 11. 2 Press [DISPLAY] (16) repea tedly un til the Remaini ng Tape Tim e appears on the VCR disp lay.
15 Recording from an external source This func tion can be used to make up a n edite d tape from other reco rdings or video sources. A new sc ene can be added to the end of prev ious one . Preparation s • Connect a v ideo mo vie cam era or anoth er VCR to th is VCR as show n.
16 Timer R ecordin g 4-Key Programming Up to 16 timer programmes, includin g week ly and da ily programm es, can be reco rded u p to one mont h in adv ance by setting t he tim er. 17 To Suspend the Timer Recording Standby Mode When you want to use the VCR for play back, nor mal recording or some other opera tion before the pro grammed timer rec ording perf orm, you c an tempor arily suspe nd the timer record ing standb y mode by pres sing the [TIMER (R EC)] (19) so that the [ ] indic ation on t he VCR dis play disappe ars.
18 Checking a Timer Programme • The VCR mu st be turn ed on, or in time r recording stand by mode. • Confirm tha t the TV i s on and the VCR vi ewing cha nnel i s select ed. 1 Press [PROG/CHECK] (14) twice. • Alternativ ely, you can press [TIM ER CHECK] (44) once on the VCR.
