2 This phone can be connected to an ADT Securi ty System and used as an add itional keypad interface. Y ou can program/control system functions using the buttons on the telephone front panel. The security system will pr ovide the telephone line and power supply , and has priority over the telephone functions.

4 Location of Controls Base Unit Cordless Handset P ANIC keys Press and hold for two seconds in event of emergency (panic). [STOP] Press to exit programming or terminate the functi on menu. Navigator Key Press the arrow to scroll throug h menu or select items.
5 Security System Displays 1 The base unit and cordless handset display status icons below: 2 While the phone is in the menu mo de, the display shows real time status, or the display shows the screen to enter a number or set the date and time. 3 “ ” is used to enter the function me nu for the security system.
6 Entry/Exit Delays Entry Delay Y ou can have time to re-enter your house from pre-selected door by programming entry delay times. Y ou must disarm the sys tem before entry delay time expires. The phone beeps until you disarm the system. Confirm with your installer for your delay time.
7 Arming the System Y ou can set the security mode through t he function menu using the base unit or handset. There are 4 modes, AW A Y , ST A Y , Night-S t ay and INST ANT . If you want to change the security mode after you arm the system, disarm the system, then set your requ ired mode through the functi on menu.
Arming the System 8 Setting the A way mode When nobody (including pets) remains at home, select this mode. When you set the Away mode, — the entire system (interior and perimeter) is armed, and — exit delay begins so that you can leave th rough the entry/exit door .
9 Arming the System Setting the St ay mode When you want to arm the system while persons stay inside, select this mode. When you set the S tay mode, — the perimeter zones, such as pr otected windows.
Arming the System 10 Setting the Night-St ay mode When you want to get more increased se curity than the S tay mode, select this mode. When you set the Night-S tay mode, — the perimeter zones and pr.
11 Arming the System Setting the Instant mode When you stay at home and no one intends to use an entry/exit door , select this mode. When you set the Instant mode, — the system is armed same as th e S tay mode, and — if the protected perimeter wind ows and doors are open ed, an alarm sounds immediatel y .
12 Disarming the security system T o disarm the security syst em through the function menu Y ou can disarm the system by turning the se curity mode off through the function menu. : Press the so ft key ( ), and follow steps 2 to 3 above, us ing the cordless handset.
13 Disarming the se curity system When alarm sounds while the system is armed: 1 Enter your secu rity code. • The alarm stops, the secu rity system is disarmed. • Check the alarm display . If the pro tec ted doors or windows remain open, cl ose them.
14 Byp assing Protection Zones Using this mode, you can set the selected zones to be unprotected. After setting this mode, set the security mode as d esired. While the security system is armed, you can not set the Byp ass. T o byp ass zones, disarm the security system (p.
15 Byp assing Protection Zones : Press the soft key ( ), and follow step s 2 to 5 on the previous pa ge, using the cordless handset. Press the sof t key ( ), then press [OFF] to go to the st andby mode. 6 Press [ g ] ( ENTER ). • The “Bypass” message fo r byp assed zone number is displayed mo mentarily .
Byp assing Protection Zones 16 Quick Byp ass If the Quick Bypass is programmed by the se curity system installer , you can set all faulted (open) zones unprotected at once.
17 Chime Mode Even if the security system is not arme d, the Chime mode can alert you by three beeps and announcement to the opening of a perimeter door or window . Refer to “Chime Mode ” on page 22 in th e 3000EN Security System s User ’ s Gui de .
18 Setting the Date and T ime Y ou can set the date and time of the se curity system by fo llowing the operation below . The date and time setting for the telephone should be programme d through the “T e lephone” menu. While the security system is armed, you can not set the Date and Time.
19 Setting the Date and T ime T o view the current da te and time 1 Press [ADT] . 2 Scroll to “ OTHER FUNCTIONS ” by pressing [ d ] or [ B ] , then pres s [ g ] . 3 Scroll to “ DATE/TIME ” by pres sing [ d ] or [ B ] , then press [ g ] . 4 Enter your security code .
20 P ANIC Keys The P ANIC keys can manual ly activate emergency (panic) functions, and send signals to the Customer Monitoring C enter, if the system is being monitored. Using the P ANIC Keys If the P ANIC key is pressed whi le a phone is in use, the operation of a phone is cancelled.
21 P ANIC Keys T o stop and clear a burglary alarm 1 Enter the security code. • If the system is armed, the system is disarmed. • Alarm stops. 2 Press [ADT] . 3 Enter your s ecurity code, t hen press [1] . • Alarm display will be cleare d. • “ ” will be displayed.
22 Remote Phone Control Y ou can access the security system from a touch tone phone locate d off the premises. Y ou can regain system status information over the telephone by voice guidance, control your security system by entering function commands remotely with the telephone dialin g buttons.
23 Selecting the Function (Macro) If a series of commands (up to 16 keyst rokes) are programmed in the system’s memory by your installer and the commands are assigned to the “A”, “B”, “C.
24 Device Commands If some devices are set up for your system , you can activate or deactivate certain lights or other devices using the Device Commands menu. Confirm with your installer for devices set up for your system. Refer to “Using Device Co mmands” on page 27 in the 3000EN Security Systems User ’ s Guide .
25 Security Codes & Authority Levels Adding User Code Refer to “Security Codes & Authority Levels” on pages 30 to 31 in the 3000EN Security Systems Us er ’ s G uide . While the security system is ar med, you can not turn on this function.

27 Security Codes & Authority Levels Deleting User Code Y ou can delete the user code and programm ed attri butes except assigned partition. Refer to “Delete User Code” on page 31 in the 3000EN Security Systems User’ s Guide . While the security system is ar med, you can not turn on this function.
Security Codes & Authority Levels 28 Authority Level Y ou can set the authority level to the selected user . Y ou can select four authority levels, “S tandard User”, “Arm only”, “Guest” and “Duress” through the AUTHORITY LEVEL menu.
29 Security Codes & Authority Levels : Press the soft key ( ), and follow step s 2 to 5 on the previous pa ge, and enter the user number of 2 digit s, using the cordless handset. Press the soft key ( ). Follow step 7 on the previous page. Press the soft key ( ), then press [OFF] to go to the standby mo de.
Security Codes & Authority Levels 30 Access Group Y ou can assign users to a group (1 to 8) and sele ct the access group for “Schedule” mode. Refer to “Access group” on page 31 in the 3000EN Security Systems User ’ s Guide . While the security system is armed, you can not turn on this function.

Security Codes & Authority Levels 32 RF User Number If you enroll a wireless button device (keyfo b) in system, you need to set the zone number for the device. Refer to “RF User Number” on page 31 in the 3000EN Secur ity Systems User ’ s Guide .

Security Codes & Authority Levels 34 Pager If the Pager setting is turned on, the phone can automaticall y send a message to a pager , when the system is armed or disa rmed by the programmed user code. The factory preset is ON. Refer to “Pager On/Off” on page 31 in the 3000EN Security Systems U ser ’ s Gui de .
35 Schedules : Press the soft key ( ), follow step s 2 to 5 on the previous page, and enter the user number of 2 digits , using the cordless handset. Press the sof t key ( ). Follow step 7 on the previous page. Press the soft key ( ), then press [OFF] to go to the standby mod e.

38 V iewing the Event Log The phone can record up to 100 events in a log. Event log is sorted by the most recent to the oldest. When the 101 st event is recorded, the oldest one is deleted . Refer to “Event Logging Procedures” on pages 37 to 38 in the 3000EN Security System s User ’ s Guide .
39 T e sting the System Y ou can check the system for proper operation. Before test ing the system, you must disarm the security mode and cl ose all protected windows, doors, etc. Refer to “T esting the System (T o Be Cond ucted Weekly)” on p ages 39 to 40 in the 3000EN Security Syst ems User’ s Guide .
40 Checking the Current S t atus Display St atu s Y ou can display faulted zones and a current system status, using this feature. Refer to “Checking F or Open Zones” on page 14 in the 3000EN Secur ity Systems User ’ s Guide . Make sure all p erimeter doors and window s are closed and is displayed.
41 Checking the Current S t atus Vo i c e S t a t u s The phone announ ces faulted zones an d a curre nt security status when this feature is turned on. Refer to “Checking Fo r Open Zones” on page 14 in the 3000EN Secur ity Systems User ’ s Guide .
42 Direct Commands Y ou can set the security mode using a security code and direct command. Confirm with your installer or refer to the 3000EN Security Systems User ’ s Guide for avail able direct commands. While the security syste m is armed, you can not use this function.
43 Mute Security Y ou can mute beep and announcement by selecting “Mute all sounds” through the function menu. Even if “Mute all sounds” is selected, alarm sound and emergency message are not muted. : Press [CONF/FUNCTION] , and follow step s 2 and 3 above, using the cordle ss handset.
44 T wo W ay V oice Feature The phone provides you with the T wo W ay V oic e feature. Th is feature can be used only by an operator in a Customer Monito ring Center. This feature can help an operator to check a false alarm an d respond in an event of emergency (panic).
45 Function Menu T able The phone provide s you with the follo wing Security menus (“Securi ty” and “Mute Security”), which can be accessed by pressing [FUNCTION/EDIT] or [CONF/FUNCTION] . By pressing [ADT] in the standby mode, you can directly enter the Security sub- menu.
