11 Getting Star ted Using the T ether The tether can be attached to the bottom right or bottom left corner of the display . It prevents the stylus (included) from falling accidentally .
12 Getting Star ted 1 Fir st-time Operation Read the steps below to help you learn what parts are included, and to gain an understanding of some basic computer-related operations. 1 Confirm the inc lusion of all par ts. Make sure the parts shown in the figure have been supplied.
13 Getting Star ted 5 Open the displa y . 1 Pull up on the latch A and release the latch B. 2 Lift open the display . Slide the power switch and hold it for approximately one second until the power indi- cator turns on before releasing it. CA UTION Connect y our computer to a po wer outlet.
14 Getting Star ted First-time Operation 8 Calibrate the touchscreen. 1 Select [start] - [Control Panel] - [Printers and Other Hardware] - [Mouse] - [T ouchScreen] - [Calibration]. 2 T ouch the “+” mark on the calibration screen with the stylus (included) for about one second.
15 Getting Star ted When cr eating a new user account: • If you make mail settings, create password reset disks ( page 16), or conduct other related operations before creating the user account, you will be unable to use any previous mail history or settings.
16 Getting Star ted Depending on the Windows settings, installed applications, and drivers, menus and other displays may dif fer , or some functions (such as use of the password reset disk) may be inoperable. Check with your system administrator for details.

27 Operation When Using P eripheral Devices Pay strict attention to the following points to avoid damage to the computer, peripheral de- vices, cables, etc. Also, in addition to following this manual and the Reference Manual, care- fully read the instruction manuals for the peripheral devices being used.

(The data partition size is the remainder after subtract- ing the basic partition size.) T o select [3], the initial partition size must be 6 GB or more of the hard disk size.

38 Appendix Hard Disk Backup Function The hard disk backup function creates a backup area (storage area) on the hard disk. This area is to back up (store) hard disk contents or restore backed up contents to their original locations.
