5 P ar ts and their functions Contr ol panel OPERA TE lamp This lamp will come on when power is supplied to this unit and the OPERA TE s witch is on. OPERA TE switch This controls the power of all pan/tilt head systems (pan/ tilt head and conv er tible camera) connected to this unit.
6 P ar ts and their functions SHUTTER button This is used to select the shutter speed of the camera in the pan/tilt head system currently selected. Each time the button is pressed, the set shutter speed is s witched to shutter OFF or vice versa. The shutter speed is actually s witched as soon as the button is released.
7 P ar ts and their functions A WC button When the WHITE BAL [A] button or [B] b utton has been selected, press the A WC button to automatically adjust the white balance and enter the adjustment in the camera’ s memor y A or memor y B.
8 P ar ts and their functions CONTROL b uttons [1] to [5] Pressing buttons 1 to 5 will select the connected pan/tilt head system. When the A W-RC400 is connected, the b utton of the chosen number will illuminate and the video signal from the selected pan/tilt head system will be output to the A W-RC400’ s MONIT OR OUT 1 to 2 ter minals.
9 P ar ts and their functions H/F b utton This sets the heater/f an function ON or OFF when a pan/ tilt head (A W-PH600/A W -PH650) equipped with a heater/ f an function is used in the pan/tilt head system currently selected. Each time it is pressed, the function is turned ON or OFF in turn.
10 ZOOM lever This is used to adjust the lens zoom in the pan/tilt head system currently selected. Depending on the direction in which the ZOOM le ver is tilted, TELE (telephoto) or WIDE (wide angle) is set, and depending on the angle at which it is tilted, the zoom speed is adjusted.
11 P ar ts and their functions ZOOM REVERSE [NOR/REV] switch (Setting at shipment: NOR) This is used to select the lens zoom operation which is to be perf or med by operating the ZOOM le ver .
12 P ar ts and their functions GND terminal Use to ground the unit. DC12V IN terminal Connects the A W-PS505A A C adapter (sold separately). T ALL Y IN connector Connect this to the T ALL Y connector on the video s witcher or other units. When the T ALL Y connector is set to the GND le vel, the T ALL Y lamp ( ) lights.

Connect a 10BASE-T straight cab le (equivalent to UTP categor y 5) to the pan/tilt head’ s IP/RP ter minal.

18 Operation T urning on the power 1. Set all the power s witches of the connected components and the power s witch of the AC adapter to ON. 2. Set this unit’ s OPERA TE switch to ON. P ower will be supplied to the pan/tilt head system connected to this unit, and the camera’ s initial settings will be perf or med in sequence.
19 Operation Adjusting the minim um star t speed of the pan/tilt head When the pan/tilt head is to be operated manually using the jo ystick, its minimum start speed is automatically adjusted to ensure that the pan/tilt head will star t moving smoothly in response to the angle to which the pan/tilt le ver is tilted.
20 Operation Adjusting the minim um star t speed of the lens zoom P erform this adjustment to ensure that the lens zoom will function smoothly in response to the angle to which the zoom le v er is tilted when it is used to zoom the lens.
21 4. Set the left end position in the tra vel r ange. Operate the P AN/TIL T lev er to rotate the camera to the position which is to ser ve as the left end position. Press the PRESET 1 and 6 b uttons while holding down the MEMOR Y button. When the b utton 5 lamp lights, the setting is completed.
22 1. Select the pan/tilt head system using the CONTROL button. 2. Shoot a white object (such as a white wall or handkerchief) to fill the whole screen using the pan/tilt head system currently selected. Do not allow shin y , reflective or very bright objects to appear on the screen.

24 1. Select the pan/tilt head system using the CONTROL button. 2. Use the f ollowing buttons to estab lish the modes. Press the IRIS button to estab lish the MANU mode (the IRIS button’ s lamp now goes off). If the A UTO mode is estab lished, the lens iris position will not be entered.
25 Setting pr ocedure 1. K eep pressing the MENU/ b utton f or two seconds. The menu mode is established, and the on-screen menus of the camera in the pan/tilt head system currently selected are displa yed. At this point, the MENU/ b utton lamp remains lighted.
