Getting Started Y our Barbie ™ T o te N’ T ea c h ™ operates on 2 “ AA” batteries (included). Battery Installation 1) Unzip the learning computer compartment of the bag and remo v e the unit. 2) Make sure the unit is turned of f. 3) Using a small Phillip’ s head scre w dri ver , unscre w the battery co ver on the back of the unit.
• Do not dispose of batteries in f ire. • Non-rechar geable batteries are not to be rechar ged. • Rechar gea ble batteries are to be remo v ed from the to y before being char ged. • Rechar gea ble batteries are only to be char ged under adult supervision.
Starting the Barbie ™ T ote N’ T each ™ T urn on the T o te N’ T ea c h ™ by pushing the “On/Of f” b utton at the top right of the ke yboard.
Y ou can press the “Game Code” b utton (bottom left on the membrane ke ypad) at any time to choose a dif ferent acti vity . Attempts Y ou ha ve three attempts on each question. After three incorrect answers, the T o te N’ T ea c h ™ will re veal the correct answer .
Mathematical Operation Buttons There are two operation sign b uttons. One of the b uttons has the plus and minus signs on it and the other b utton has the times and di vide signs on it. For the g ames where you need to use these b uttons: “Sign Up” and “Calculator”, the b uttons will toggle the signs.
Acti vities 01 Flo wer Fun Guess the hidden word. 1.The T o te N’ T ea c h ™ displays a number of blank spaces in the middle of the screen representing the hidden letters of a word. 2.Select a letter by pressing an y letter b utton. 3.If the letter is in the word, it will appear in the correct place in the word.
2. W ork out which letter is incorrect. 3. Mo v e the wand o v er the letter either by pressing the left and right cursor ke ys or by pressing the letter b utton. (If there is more than one of the same letter press the letter ke y repeatedly and it will mov e between them.
05 Math Dash T est your math skills by answering the equations. 1. The T o te N’ T ea c h ™ displays an equation. 2. W ork out the answer , and ke y it in using the number b uttons. 3. The answer is automatically submitted when you ke y in the last digit.
2. The shapes are cov ered by square tiles. T ry to remember the positions of the shapes. 3. Highlight the tile you want to unco v er using the cursor ke ys. Press the “Enter” b utton to uncov er the shape. 4. Select the second shape in the pair using the same method.
09 Piece of Cak e Mo v e the cake layers to a dif ferent plate. 1. The screen is di vided into three columns. A cake with layers is sho wn on the left of the screen. Y ou ha ve to mo ve the cak e, one la yer at a time, to a dif ferent part of the screen.
5. A white diamond means that one of the shapes in your guess is the correct shape b ut in the wrong position. 6. If you get a blank, then one of the shapes in your guess is not in the pattern that the T o te N’ T ea c h ™ made up. 7. Use the clues T o te N’ T ea c h ™ gi ves you to guess the pattern correctly .
4. Y ou ha ve three balls to try to break all the blocks. 13 Riv er Jump Help the frog cross the lake using the mo ving logs. 1. Control the frog with the cursor ke ys. 2. T ry to reach the frog’ s home at the top of the screen, by mo ving the frog onto the logs.
3. If you press the “Help” b utton the shapes will be replaced with numbers. 16 Bee Pr epared Find the flo wers without disturbing the bee! 1. The T o te N’ T ea c h ™ sho ws a grid of clouds on the screen. One of the clouds is flashing. 2. Mo v e the flashing highlight with the cursor ke ys to select a cloud you want to remo ve.
4. Mo v e the arro w back to the dra wing area and press the “Enter” b utton to draw with the selected tool. 5. Y ou can erase your dra wing using the eraser tool at the bottom right of the toolbar . 18 Balloon Dr op Guide the balloon to the landing site.
