Lif t the receiver ’s F RONT SPEAKERS A R (+) red lever and insert the ridged or color-code d condu ctor ’ s end in to the sma ll hole.

14 Pre pari ng Your Re cei ver Using the AC Power O utlet Y ou r receiver has an AC power out let that you can use to power an electronic device , such as a turntable, cassette deck, VCR , and so on. This switched out- let turns on and of f with t he receiver and provides a maximum of 100 Wat ts.

2 0 Usin g Adv ance d Sound Optio ns Y ou r receiver has four special sound options: Dolby Pro Logic Surround, Dolby 3C H Logic, Studio-Ef fect Surround, and Simulate d Surround. 2 2 Usin g the R emote C ontrol The remote cont rol works up to a di stance of about 23 feet, and within a 30- degree angle on either side of the receiver . Point the control at the r eceiver ’s front panel and press the desired button(s). Many but tons on t he remote con trol work the same as buttons on t he receiver ’ s front pa nel.
2 3 CD Pla yer Ope r ation Before operat ion: •S e t AUDIO • SURROUND to AUDIO . •P r e s s CD POWER to select t he CD player o peration. • Y ou must connect t he CD player t o both your receiver ’s C ONTROL OUT and audio jacks for t hese functions to work.
