T ime synchronization between multiple PTC901 meters can be accomplished through a hardware interface on the Real-T ime Clock option card. This RS485 type interface allows connection of up to 32 PTC901 meters in a two-wire multidrop network, at distances up to 4000 ft.
PROGRAMMING MODE ENTR Y (P AR KEY) The Programming Mode is entered by pressing the PA R key . If this mode is not accessible, then meter programming is locked by either a security code or a hardware lock. (See Modules 2 and 3 for programming lock-out details.
This parameter determines how the T imer Input Signals affect the “Run/Stop” status of the T imer . The timing diagrams below reflect a Sinking input setup (active low). A Sourcing input setup (active high) is available through plug jumper selection (see Section 2.
ª « ª « NO FUNCTION W ith this selection, NO function is performed. This is the factory setting for all user inputs and function keys except the Reset ( RST ) Key . PROGRAMMING MODE LOCK-OUT Programming Mode is locked-out, as long as activated (maintained action).
ª « ª « DISPLA Y HOLD and RESET (Edge T riggered Reset) When activated, the meter “freezes” the display values entered as in the sublist, before performing an internal Momentary Reset on the selected displays.
When active (maintained action), the meter “holds” (maintains) the present output state for all Setpoints entered as in the sublist. Does not apply to Output Set and Reset User Inputs. Program only one user input for this function. Note : The r emaining parameters only appear when a Setpoint Car d is installed in the meter .
6.3 MODULE 3 - D ISPLAY AND P ROGRAM L OCK - OUT P ARAMETERS ( ) Module 3 is the programming module for setting the Display Lock-out Parameters and the “Quick Programming Mode” V alue Access Parameters.

SENDING SERIAL COMMANDS AND DA T A When sending commands to the meter , a string containing at least one command character must be constructed. A command string consists of a command character , a value identifier , numerical data (if writing data to the meter) followed by the command terminator character * or $.
Abbreviated T ransmission ( = ) ✰ These characters only appear in the last line of a block print. The abbreviated response suppresses the address and register mnemonics, leaving only the numeric part of the response. Note : T ransmissions are formatted to match the way the parameter is displayed.
Module 8 is the programming module for the Real-Time Clock (R TC) Date and T ime Parameters. In the Display Mode, the DA T annunciator indicates the R TC Date is currently being shown. The R TC T ime display is shown with no annunciator . This programming module can only be accessed if a Real-T ime Clock card is installed.
