1. Before beginning any exercise program, con- sult your physician. This is especially impor- tant for persons over the age of 35 or persons with pre-existing health problems. 2. It is the responsibility of the owner to ensure that all users of this treadmill are adequately informed of all warnings and precautions.
20. Never leave the treadmill unattended while it i s running. Always remove the key, unplug t he power cord, and switch the reset/off cir- cuit breaker to the off position when the treadmill is not in use. (See the drawing on page 5 for the location of the circuit breaker.

6 ASSEMBL Y A ssembly requires two persons. S et the treadmill in a cleared area and remove all packing materials. D o not dispose of the packing materials until assembly is completed. Note: The underside of the treadmill walking belt is coated with high-performance lubricant.
7 2. Identify the Left Upright (73) and the Right Upright (74). See the inset drawing. Tie the wire tie in the R ight Upright (74) securely around the end of the Upright Wire Harness (75). With the help of a second person, hold the Right Upright near the Right Base Cover (77).
8 4. With the help of a second person, hold the con- sole assembly near the Uprights (73, 74). Remove the tie from the Upright Wire Harness ( 75). Connect the Upright Wire Harness (75) to the Console Wire Harness (71). See the inset draw- ing. The connectors should slide together easily and snap into place.
9 9. Make sure that all parts are properly tightened before you use the treadmill. Keep the included hex key in a secure place; the hex key is used to adjust the walking belt (see page 23). To protect the floor or carpet from damage, place a mat under the treadmill.
10 1. Make sure that the power cord is unplugged. Remove the indicated 3/4" Screws (4) from the Pulse Receiver Cover (70) on the back of the Console Assembly (A). 2. Next, hold the receiver so the small cylinder is oriented as shown. Attach the receiver to the Pulse Receiver Cover (70) with the two included Small Screws (B).
OPERA TION AND ADJUSTMENT T HE PRE-LUBRICATED WALKING BELT Your treadmill features a walking belt coated with high- performance lubricant. IMPORTANT: Never apply sil- i cone spray or other substances to the walking b elt or the walking platform. Such substances will deteriorate the walking belt and cause excessive wear.

When the manual mode of the con- sole is selected, the speed and i nclin e of t he tr eadmil l can be changed with the touch of a butt on.
13 HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER I MPORTANT: If the treadmill has been exposed to cold temperatures, allow it to warm to room tem- p erature before turning on the power. If you do not do this, the console displays or other electrical components may become damaged.

See HOW TO PERSONALIZE CONSOLE SET- TINGS on page 13. 3. Select the manual mode. Each time the key is inserted, the man- ual mode will be se- lected.
15 When the manual mode is selected, the console of- fers eight display modes. The display mode that y ou select will determine which workout information is shown. For example, the first display mode s hows only the elapsed time and the distance that you have walked or run.

19 HOW TO USE THE STEREO SOUND SYSTEM T o play music or audio books through the console’s stereo speakers, you must connect your MP3 player, C D player, or other personal audio player to the con- sole. Locate the audio wire below the display on the console, and plug it into a jack on your MP3 player, CD player, or other personal audio player.
20 HOW T O FOLD AND MOVE THE TREADMILL HOW TO FOLD THE TREADMILL FOR STORAGE B efore folding the treadmill, adjust the incline to the lowest position. If you do not do this, you may damage the treadmill when you fold it. Remove the key and unplug the pow er cord.
21 HOW TO LOWER THE TREADMILL FOR USE 1 . Hold the upper end of the treadmill with your right hand. Pull the latch knob to the left and hold it. It may be neces- s ary to push the frame forward as you pull the knob to the left. Pivot the frame downward and release the latch knob.
22 TROUBLESHOOTING Most treadmill problems can be solved by following the steps below. Find the symptom that applies, and follow the steps listed. If further assistance is needed, please see the front cover of this manual. PROBLEM: The power does not turn on SOLUTION: a.
23 Next, locate the Reed Switch (14) and the Magnet (12) on the left side of the Pulley (11). Turn the Pulley u ntil the Magnet is aligned with the Reed Switch.
24 PROBLEM: The console displays remain lit when you remove the key from the console S OLUTION: a . The console features a display demo mode, designed to be used if the treadmill is displayed in a store. If the displays remain lit when you remove the key, the demo mode is turned on.
