I NSTALLATION RS232, Light Pen Emulation 1. Turn off the host device. 2. Plug the male 10-pin RJ45 end of the PowerLink cable into the 10-pin socket on the MS7120. 3. Connect the 9-pin female end of the PowerLink cable to the host device. 4. Plug the external power supply int o the power jack on the PowerLink cable.
I NSTALLATION RS485 1. Turn off the host device. 2. Plug the male 10-pin RJ45 end of the MVC cable into the 10-pin socket on the MS7120. 3. Connect the other end of the MVC cable to the host device.
I NSTALLATION Keyboard Wedge 1. Turn off the host device. 2. Plug the male 10-pin RJ45 end of the PowerLink cable into the 10-pin socket on the MS7120. 3. Disconnect the keyboard from the host device. 4. Connect the “Y” end of the PowerLink cable to the keyboar d and the keyboard port on the host PC.
I NSTALLATION Stand-Alone Keyboard 1. Turn off the host device. 2. Plug the male 10-pin RJ45 end of the PowerLink cable into the 10-pin socket on the MS7120. 3. Connect the other end of the PowerLink cable to the keyboard port on the host device. 4. Plug the external power supply int o the power jack on the PowerLink cable.
I NSTALLATION Full Speed or Low Speed USB 1. Turn off the host device. 2. Plug the male 10-pin RJ45 end of the USB cable into the 10-pin socket on the MS7120. 3. Plug the other end of the USB interface cable into the host device’s USB port. 4. Turn on the host device.
S CANNER O PERATION Audible Indicators When the MS7120 is in operation, it pr ovid es audible feedback to indic ate the status of the scanner. Eight settings are available for the tone of the beep (normal, six alternate tones and no tone).
S CANNER O PERATION Visual Indicators The MS7120 is equipp ed with a blue and a white LED that indicates the scanner’s state and the status of the current scan wh en the unit is in operation. Figure 14. LED Location No LEDs The LEDs will not be illumi nated if the sca nner is not receiving po wer from the host or transformer.
