Explanation of hard disk capacity Dear user , While using your computer, you may fi nd that the nomin al hard disk capacity indicat ed is somewhat different from the disk capacity displayed by th e operating system. For example, a nomi nal 40GB hard disk will appe ar as less than 40 GB in the operating sys tem.
In addition, if a portion of the har d disk space has been used for some specific purpose, then th e capacity indicated by the operating system will be even less than X × 0.

Learning the bas ics Removing the battery pack If you are not going to use the computer for an extended period of time, or if you need to send your computer to Lenovo for service, etc. r emove the battery pack from the co mputer . Before removing the battery pack, make sure the compu ter has been shut down.
Chapter 2. Learning the basics 15 Handling the battery If the re chargeable battery pack is r eplaced with an incorrect type, ther e may be danger of an explosion. The batter y pack contains a small amount of harmful substances. T o avoid possible injury and detriment to the environment, pay attention to the fo llowing points.

Learning the basics 17 Gestures The touch pad r ecognizes certain gestur es, and allo ws for easy execution of actions such as zoom in/out , or scroll up/down, etc. Pinch zoom • Place two fingers down on the T ouchPad surface. • Slide the fingers further apart to zoom in or slide the fingers closer together to zoom out.
