4 QUICK SET-UP GUIDE Hint: Use good quality Alkaline Batteri es and avoid rechargeable batteries. 1. Have the indoor station and out door remote 3 to 5 apart . 2. Batteries should be out of both units for 10 mi nutes. 3. Place the batteries into the outdoor remote first then into the indo or station.
5 DETAILED SET-UP GUIDE I. BATTERY INSTALLATION A. REMOTE CONTROL SENDER 1. Remove the m ounting bracket. The bracket snaps on and off easily. 2. Remove the battery cover, by sliding the cover down. 3. Observing the correct polarity install 2 AA batteries.

8 3. Select your appropriate time zone using the CH button. During selection of the Time Zone, the 3 letter abbrev iations for the time zones found in North America will flash across the top of the TIME LCD . Observe the chart b elow, showing the corresponding abbreviations, ti me zones, and codes.
9 5. Press and release the SET button to confirm and advance to the Time sett ing mode. V. TIME There are two methods by whi ch the time and dat e can be set: A) Automatically via WWVB reception, or B) Manually.
10 5. The minute digits shoul d be flashing. Press the CH button to change the minutes—increasing th e minutes by increm ents of 1 with each press of the CH button. 6. Press and release the SET button to confirm the minutes and to advance to the Day, Date, and Year setti ng mode.
11 7. The numeric-day will be flashing, u se the CH bu tton to set the current day. 8. Press and release the SET button to confirm and to enter the year setting mode. 9. The default-year will be flashing , use the CH to set th e appropriate year. 10. Press and release the SET button to confirm and t o advance to the ° F or ° C setting mode.
12 FEATURES OF THE WS-7014U I. WEATHER FORECAST The weather forecasting feature is estimated to be 75% accurate. The weather forecast is based solely upon th e change of air pressure over time.
13 Sunny —indicates that the weather is expected to im prove (not that the weather will be sun n y). Sun with Clouds —indicates that the weather is expected to be fair (not that the weather will be sunny with clouds). Clouds with Rain —indicates that the weather is expected to get worse (not that the weath er will be rainy).
14 III. OUTDOOR TEMPERATURE The temperature received from the Remote Control Sender is viewed in the OUTDOOR LCD. When there is more than one Remote Control Sender unit in operatio n, a “boxed” n umber will appear to the right of the temperature.
15 1. Press the OUT butt on once. “MIN” appears in the upper- center location of the fl ashing OUTDOOR LCD, indicati ng that the minimum temperature, and the time and date of occurrence are d isplayed. The minimum records will display for 20 seconds.
16 Note: When setting up mu ltiple units it is impo rtant to remove the batteries from all existin g units in operation, th en to insert batteries first into all the Remote Control Sender units, and in numeri c sequence. Second install batteries into the In door Temperature Statio n.
17 MOUNTING Note: Before permanently mount ing ensure that the Indoor Temperat ure Station is able to receive WWVB signals from the desired location. Also, extreme and sudden changes in temperat ure w.
18 B. MOUNTING WITH ADHESIVE TAPE 1) With a nonabrasive solution, clean and dry the back of the mounting bracket and the mounting surface to ensure a secure hold. The mounting surface should be smooth and flat . 2) Remove the protective stri p from one side of the tape.

20 TROUBLESHOOTING NOTE: For problems not solved, please contact La Crosse Technology. Problem: No reception of WWVB time signal. Solution: 1) Wait overnight for signal. 2) Be sure Weather Station is at l east 6 feet from any electrical devices, such as televisions, com puters, or other radio-control led clocks.
21 MAINTENANCE AND CARE INSTRUCTIONS • Extreme tem peratures, vibration, and shock should be avoided to prevent damage to the units. • Clean displays and units with a soft, dam p cloth. Do not use solvent s or scouring agents; they m ay mark t he displays and casings.
22 SPECIFICATIONS Temperature measuring range: Indoor: 32 ° F to 139.8 ° F with 0.2 ° F resolution. (0 ° C to 59.9 ° C with 0.1 ° C resolution). “OFL” displayed if out side this range. Outdoor: -21.8 ° F to 157.2 ° F with 0.2 ° F resolution.
