English 5 Preparing the remote c ontrol unit Pull the battery sheet out from the remote contr ol unit to the direction of the arrow . Operation When the power cor d is plugged in, ST ANDBY indicator is lit. The power turns ON by pressing button on the remote contr ol unit pointing at the remote sensor .

English 19 S ystem setup Adjusting the displa y brightness (BA CKLIGHT ) The brightness of the display backlight can be adjusted and how the display backlight and illuminations of this unit are lit can be selected. 1 Press BA CKLIGHT/CONTRAST button. 2 Press MUL TI CONTROL C or D button t o select "BACKLIGHT" and press ENTER button.
20 CLX-70 Clock/timer operation T imer setting The system can switch on to CD , USB, SD , TUNER or iPod automatically at a pr eset time, serving as an alarm to wake you up . Impor tant! Before setting the timer , ensure that the clock is set correctly .

English 23 General information Maintenance Cleaning the cabinet • Use a soft cloth slightly moistened with a mild detergent solution. Do not use a solution containing alcohol, spirits, ammonia or abrasive. Cleaning discs • When a disc becomes dirt y , clean it with a cleaning cloth, wipe the disc from the center out.
