3 Intr oduction The SA-D V6000 Network P ack is designed to enhance and complement the BR-D V6000 D V Video Cassette Recorder functionality . By adding networking capabilities to the BR-D V6000, the SA-D V6000 allows users to connect to and stream video and audio from th e VTR in real-time, from an ywhere in the world.
4 Caution ● Make sure the po wer of BR-D V6000 is off when inser ting/ removing a CF memory card/LAN card. Inser ting/removing a card with the unit power on ma y damage the data storage section of the CF memory card or the card itself. ● Do not remove the power cable with the power of the BR- DV6000 on.
5 Other than the use of a LAN card, this unit is also equipped with a LAN terminal for LAN connection. Basic Using LAN terminal LAN cable types ● When connecting directly to a PC , use a 10/100 BASE-T cross cable. ● When connecting to a network hub , use a 10/100 BASE-T straight cab le.
6 Basic LCD screen Information from Network Pack SA-DV6000 is displayed on the BR-DV6000 LCD screen. Card status and warnings will be displayed when setting the LCD screen to the Enlarged display mode.
7 Menu settings Menu screen structure When attaching Network P ack SA-D V6000 to BR-D V6000 D V Video cassette recorder , NETWORK P A CK CONFIG menu and MO VIE CLIP menu are added to the BR-D V6000 T OP MENU screen. (These menus will not appear during initialization when the unit is first turned on.

17 Encoding About video/audio encoding Since toda y’ s technology does not permit the economical streaming or captur ing (to solid-state memory) of wideband digital vide o signals, it is necessary to compress the video and audio signals for these applications .

19 LAN connections About LAN connection The SA-DV6000 supports both wired and wireless LAN cards for connection directly to a Client PC, to a local Intranet or to the Internet. Other than the use of a LAN card, the SA-DV6000 is also equipped with a LAN terminal for LAN connection.

27 LAN connections Pr o xy Settings It is necessary to select whether to use a proxy server or not depending on the network environment. T o deter mine if you are using a pro xy ser v er . 1. 28 Using LAN car d/LAN terminal Streaming and Capturing Video The SA-DV6000 can send video on a pre-recorded DV tape or video from the video input of BR-DV6000. Capturing (sav e to disk) of video transmitted by means of streaming can be started/ended on the Client PC.

32 Memo ● Clip file numbers of clip files are generated from the last number of the file in the PC card. If the last file is erased when the power is turned on, that number will not be used. After formatting, numbers will be generated from 0001. ● The generated time of the clip file is the time when recording is completed.

If the repeat pla y is set to OFF , playbac k is perf or med from the specified clip file to the latest clip file and pauses at the specified clip file.
39 Memo When a MOVIE CLIP menu item is se- lected and the SET button is pressed ● with no clips recorded on the CF memor y card, “NO CLIP!” will flash f or about 3 seconds. ● If there is no CF memory card inser ted, “NO CF CARD!” will flash for about 3 seconds.
