The instructions given on this page will sho w you how you can simply move them into your desired order .
17 PREP ARA TION Bef ore Operation-D VD part By using the D VD Setup men u, you can mak e v arious adjustments to items such as picture and sound. Y ou can also set a language for the subtitles and the Setup menu, among other things. F or details on each Setu p menu item, see pages 17 to 19 .

19 Bef ore Operation-D VD part PREP ARA TION LOCK (P arental Control) Rating Some movies contain scenes that may not be suitable for children to view . Many of these discs contain parental control information that applies to the compl ete disc or to cer tain scenes on the disc.
20 Operation with tape Pla ying a tape Y ou will only be able to load and eject video cassettes when yo ur D VD+VCR is plugged into the mains. Y our D VD+VCR ma y also pla yback recordi ngs from NTSC tapes (on P AL TV).
21 Operation with tape OPERA TION Instant Timer Recor ding Y our D VD+VC R allows y ou to make recordings using a v ariety of simple methods: Instant T imer Recor ding star t recordi ng immediately f or a set period of time or until the video cassette runs out.
22 Operation with tape VIDEO Plus+ Pr ogramming VIDEO Plus+ greatly simplifies en tering the date, channel, start and end times of a Timer Recording by simply entering a VIDEO Plus+ Code. VIDEO Plus+ Codes are pu blished in most TV guide magazines; the y can v ar y one to nine numb ers in length.

Note: Bef ore setting the ti mer make sure th at you ha v e set the D VD+VCR cloc k correctly and y ou know which stations y ou hav e tuned TV stations on y our D VD+VCR.

Press i return to screen. If PLEASE CHECK is displa yed, y ou have entered incorrectly and will need to re-enter the data.
25 OPERA TION Additional Ope ration - VCR par t Hi-Fi Stereo Sound System (NIC) Y our D VD+VCR will record and playbac k Hi-Fi stereo sound. In addition it has a stereo NICAM digital stereo sound decoder . This allows you to record and pla yback the sound in sev eral diff erent wa ys.
26 Additional Ope ration - VCR par t Video Doctor (Self-Diagnosis) This f eature informs you that there is a problem with your D VD+VCR . These error messages will appea r on the TV screen. 1. Press i . Press 2 or 1 to select . Press ENTER/OK . 2. Press 3 or 4 to check a problem.
27 Additional Ope ration - VCR par t OPERA TION Recording fr om External Components Y ou can record from an external compon ent, such as a camcorder or VCR, connected to any of the D VD+VCR’ s e xter nal inputs. 1. Make sure that the component you want to record from is connected p roperly to th e D VD+ VCR.

32 Pla ying an A udio CD or MP3 Disc The D VD+VCR can pla y MP3 formatted recordings on CD-ROM, CD-R, or CD-R W discs. Au dio CD Once you insert an audio CD a menu appears on the TV screen. Press 3 / 4 to select a trac k then press 1 or ENTER/OK and pla yback star ts.

35 OPERA TION View ing a JPEG Disc Using this D VD+VCR you can view discs with JPEG files . 1. Inser t a disc and close the tra y . The PHO T O menu appears on the TV scree n. 2. Press 3 / 4 to select a f older , and press ENTER/ OK. A list of files in the f older appears.
