5 COOKTOP USE This man ual covers sev eral different model s. The rang e you have purchased may have som e or all of the items liste d. The locati o ns and appearances of the features shown here may not match those of your model. Cooktop Contr ols The cooktop controls can be set to anywhere between HIGH and LOW .
6 Cook top On I ndica tor Light Each cooktop con t rol has a Cookto p On indicat or light. When the control knob is on, the light will glow . Ceramic Glass (on some models) The surface cooking a r ea will glow red when an el ement is on. It may cycle on and off to mainta in the sele cted heat level.
7 Install Gr ill The grill assembly consists of two grill grates, grill element and a basin pa n. It maybe be i nstalled on the l eft or right si de of cooktop. When using the grill, follow the guidelines below . ■ T rim excess fat to reduce spatt ering.
8 Do wndr aft V enti lation System The built-in downdraft vent ilation system removes cooking vapors, odors and smoke from foods prepared on the cooktop. IMPORT ANT : For optimal performance, op erate the downdraft venti lation s ystem w ith th e filt er pr operly insta lled.
9 ELECTR ONIC OVEN CONTR OLS JES9860 JES9750 Electr onic Control P ads When pressing an y control pad function on the E lectr oni c O ven Cont rol, use the pad of yo ur finge r to press th e desired fu nction. Hold down the pad a few second s, or until the desi red func tion appears in the display .
10 Cancel The CANCEL button stops any function except the Clock, Timer and Control Lock. Wh en you press the CANCEL butto n , the display will show the time of day , or the time r emaining if the TIMER is being used. Clock To S e t C l o c k : 1. Press SET UP .
11 Ov en Lig ht The oven light automatically comes on when the door is opened. When the door is cl osed, pr ess th e OV EN LIGHT pad to turn the oven light on and off. A beep wi ll sound every time the Oven Ligh t pad is pressed. If the oven light i s on when the door i s opened, the light will go of f when the door is closed.
12 4. Select AUTO or MANUAL. AUTO will au tomatical ly pr ompt you to enter a B ake temperatu r e on Friday at 2 p.m. and stay in Sabb ath mode for 33 hours.
13 Energy S aver T o save energy , the displ ay can be se t to go dark if it i s not being used. T o set the Energy Saver feature: 1. Press SET UP . 2. Use right Qui ckset pa d to scr oll to ENERGY SA VER. 3. Select ENER GY SA VER using the left Quickset pad.
14 Baking La yer Cakes o n T wo Ra cks For best r esult s when ba king cakes on 2 racks with or with out convect ion (on some mode ls), us e racks 2 a nd 5 . Place the cakes on the rack as shown. BAKEWARE T o cook food even ly , hot air must be able to circulate.

25 ACCES S P ANEL The access pa nel is easily remove d. T o open pan el, grasp sides and pull u pwa r d, lifti ng out. T o close pa nel, align c atches with the studs on th e range. Press the access panel forward onto th e studs and drop downwar d to engage.
26 DOWNDRAF T VENTILA TION SYSTEM Air Grille Cleaning Method: ■ Lift the air grille off the cooktop. ■ Wipe clean or w ash in sink: Nonabras ive plasti c scrubbing pa d and mildly abras ive cleanser ■ Dish washer : Use mild deter gent.
