11 Idle Di splay Low Battery Display The te lephone will indicate that the batte ries are low (or not in stalled) by displaying a low batter y indi- cator, “BATT”, on the dis play. Dialing Display As you dial 12345, the display shows the numbers diale d and begins the call timer.

15 COUNTER TOP/DESK TOP INSTALLATION 1. For lines 1 and 2, plug the telephone line co rd (provided with the telephone ) into the L1/L2 jack as indicate d on the rear base of the te lephone. 2. For lines 3 and 4, plug the other telephone line co rd (pr ovided with the telephone) into the L3/L4 jack as indicate d on the rear base of the telephone.
16 Adjusting the V iewing Angle Brackets Adjust the viewing angle brackets (one on each side o f the phone) to position the ph one to the desired viewing an gle. Take care to keep the right side bracket o n the right side of the phon e and the left brac ket on the l eft side of th e ph one.
17 Wall Mounting Instructions : 1. Pick up the han dset. 2. Sl ide th e h andset catc h (i mme dia tely i n front of hand set ho ok flash lev er) up and of f the h andset cradle . 3. Rotate the handset catch a half turn and slide it back into the slot.

21 MAKING AN OUTGOING CALL Using the Handset 1. Lift the hand set. The first av ailable line is automatica lly selecte d. 2. Dial desire d number. The display will show the digits as the y are dia ling. 3. At the end of the call, return the handset to the base.
22 USING AUTO REDIAL If t he ph one numb er dia led i s busy or n ot ans wered , th e ph one ca n autom ati cal ly redi al t he numb er approximately every 60 seconds up to 10 times. 1. Press an available [LINE] key [LINE1, LINE2, LINE3, or LINE4] 2. Press [R EDIAL].

24 MAKING AN OUTGOING CALL USING TH E HEADSET 1. The [SPKR] LED will flash to i ndicate the phone is in headset mode . 2. Press the [SPKR] key. An available lin e is automatica lly selecte d. 3. Dial the desired number, using standard dial pad, speed dial or redial ke ys.
25 The I nterc om functi on allows exte nsion- to-ex tensi on conver sations (ph ones m ust be c onnecte d to [LI NE 1]). That means you can sp eak wi th anothe r par ty withou t havi ng to dial seven d igits (using an outside line ). As you direct an int ercom call to an exten sion that ext ension will ring and display a flashing ICM LED.
