41451-01 4 Description of Air Filtration System How the QuietFlo ® HEP A Air Purifier System W orks As the air is pulled into the purif ier , the activ ated carbon pre-filter absorbs odors and catches large particles. Then, the air travels through the HEP A filter where the smaller particles are collected.

41451-01 6 Operation Initial Operation This section provides basic instructions on the use of your air purif ier . After follo wing these initial directions, please continue reading this booklet to learn ho w to operate the more adv anced features of your air purifier .
7 41451-01 Operation Adjusting Day and T ime: (F or example, W ednesday at 3:45 pm) 1. T o set the day or time, press the DA Y/TIME ke y . All display features except the day and time will go blank and the hour will flash. 2. Use the UP/DO WN keys to adjust the hour .
41451-01 8 Operation Display Modes Y our air purifier has 3 display modes – Clock Displa y , Pre-Filter Display , and Filter Dis- play . When the unit is r unning, the display also pro vides additional information about the settings of the air purif ier .
9 41451-01 Operation Manual and A uto Operating Modes Y our Hunter Air Purif ier has tw o distinct operating modes – Manual and Auto. The Manual Mode allo ws you to override the control programs that ha ve been set and to hold the settings until you adjust them.
41451-01 10 Operation Override of A uto Mode Y ou can use two dif ferent methods to ov erride Auto Mode. If you choose temporary ov er- ride, the air purifier will run at the temporary setting until the ne xt scheduled program change. Permanent ov erride will remain in effect until you return the unit to auto mode.
11 41451-01 Operation Filter Run-Time Counters The pre-filter and f ilter are critical to the proper operation of the air purif ier . T o help you know when to change the f ilters, your Hunter Air Purif ier has Filter Run-Time Counters that will monitor the number of hours your f ilters have been in use.
41451-01 12 Pr ogramming Setting Day and Time Setting the correct day and time allo ws the programs to work effecti vely and pro vides a clock for your reference. Although the instructions for setting the day and time are listed under Initial Operation, they are repeated belo w for your con venience.
13 41451-01 Pr ogramming NO TES: • The clock flashes when the time has not been set. • At any time w hile y ou are setting the Day/T ime, you can press the PR OGRAM key to toggle between AM/PM format and military time format.
41451-01 14 Pr ogramming User Pr ogramming User programming allo ws you to set when the air purifier is on and what blo wer speed to use. Y ou may define up to 4 programs for the weekda ys and up to 4 programs for the week- end.
15 41451-01 Pr ogramming To set or change the programs: 1. Press the PR OGRAM key . Program 1 for w eekdays will be shown with the hour position flashing to denote that you should set that v alue now . 2. Use the UP/DO WN keys to adjust the hour setting.
41451-01 16 Pr ogramming Revie wing Programs Y ou may want to re view the programs to conf irm that the settings are still acceptable. The following steps sho w you ho w to revie w the programs. To review programs: 1. W ith the air purif ier On, press and hold the PROGRAM k ey .
17 41451-01 Pr ogramming Resetting the Air Purifier In the unusual situation that the unit or the display is exhibiting erratic beha vior , you may w ant to reset the air purif ier . Since you will lose all of your programmed settings when the unit is reset, you should consult the T roubleshooting section (pg.
41451-01 18 Air Purifier Maintenance Cleaning Y our Air Purifier Proper maintenance of your Hunter Air Purifier will help ensure years of trouble free service. F ollow these steps to properly maintain your air purifier: 1. Approximately e very 90 days, the outside of the unit should be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth.
19 41451-01 Air Purifier Maintenance 6. Install the grill back onto the unit. First, line up the tabs on the bottom of the grill with the openings on the purif ier base and then push the top of the grill forward until it is closed. 7. Plug in the air purifier .
