40 4 BIOS Overview BIOS Summary BIOS Summary HP V ectra VL400 PCs contain a Phoenix BIOS (Basic Input Output Sy stem), which was customized by Phoenix for use on the VL400. The sy stem ROM contains the POST (power -on self-test) routines, and the BIOS: the Sy stem BIOS, video BIOS, and 3Com LAN boot ROM.
