10 About the automatic icemaker . (on some models) Aut omatic Icemaker The icemaker will produce seven cubes per cycle— approximately 100–130 cubes in a 24-hour period, depending on freezer compartment temperature, room temperatur e, number of door openings and other use conditions.

Do not use wax on the door handles and trim. Keep the outside clean. Wipe with a clean cloth lightly dampened with kitchen appliance wax or mild liquid dish detergent .
12 For long vacations or absences, remove food and unplug the refrigerator . Clean the interior with a baking soda solution of one tablespoon (15 ml) of baking soda to one quart (1 liter) of water . Leave the doors open. Set the icemaker power switch to the O (off ) position and shut off the water supply to the refrigerator .

CONNECTING THE REFRIGERA T OR TO THE HOUSE W A TER LINE (cont .) If you are using copper tubing, place a compression nut and ferrule (sleeve) onto the end of the tubing coming from the house cold water supply. If you are using the GE SmartConnect ™ tubing, the nuts are alr eady assembled to the tubing.
Installation Instructions REMOVE THE FRESH FOOD DOOR HANDLE (For placement in the installation location or reversal of the handles – on some models) Stainless steel (on some models): REMOVING THE DOOR HANDLE: Loosen the set screws with the 3/32 ″ Allen wrench and remove the handle.
A T T AC H T H E FREEZER DOOR HANDLE Stainless steel and plastic handles: Attach the handle firmly to the mounting fasteners and tighten the set screws on the bottom of the handle with a 1/8 ″ Allen wrench.
LEVEL THE REFRIGERA TOR The leveling legs have 2 purposes: 1) Leveling legs adjust so the refrigerator is firmly positioned on the floor and does not wobble. 2) Leveling legs ser ve as a stabilizing brake to hold the refrigerator secur ely in position during operation and cleaning.
20 Installation Instructions REMOVE THE BASE GRILLE (if needed) If, after r emoving the freezer drawer and refrigerator door , the refrigerator will still not fit through a doorway, the base grille can be removed. Remove the base grille by removing the screws.
21 Installation Instructions REPL A CING THE FREEZER DRA WER (on some models) A T T ACH AND SECURE THE DRA WER FRONT TO THE SLIDES Pull out the rail assemblies to the full length on each side of the cabinet . Locate the slots on the inside of the rail assemblies near the back .
T OOLS YOU WILL NEED Installation Instructions RE VERSING THE DOOR SWING (Single Door Refrigerator Models only) IMP OR T ANT NO TES When reversing the door swing: NO TE: Door swing is not reversible on stainless steel models. • Read the instructions all the way thr ough before starting.
Installation Instructions TRANSFER CENTER HINGE BRACKET (cont .) Transfer the plug button and screw hole cover in the hinge holes on the left side to the right side. Install the new center hinge bracket from the kit on the left side. 3 C REMOVE THE FREEZER DOOR Tape the door shut with masking tape.
TRANSFER REFRIGERA TOR AND FREEZER DOOR ST OPS Remove the door stop on the right side of the bottom of the door by removing the two scr ews. Move the plastic hinge hole thimble to the opposite hole. Install the door stop on the left side, making sure to line up the scr ew holes in the door stop with the holes in the bottom of the door .

REMOVE THE REFRIGERA T OR DOORS (cont .) Remove the tape and tilt the door away fr om the cabinet . Lift the door off the center hinge pin. Ensure that the plastic hinge pin thimble remains on the hinge pin or inside door hinge pin hole located in the bottom of the door .
Installation Instructions REPL A CING THE DOORS (Double Door Refrigerat or Models only) INST ALL CENTER HINGE Install the center hinge on each side. REHANG REFRIGERA TOR DOORS Lower the refrigerator door onto the center hinge pin.
Installation Instructions 28 INST ALLING THE W A TER LINE (ICEMAKER MODELS) Recommended copper water supply kits ar e WX8X2, WX8X3 or WX8X4, depending on the amount of tubing you need. Approved plastic water supply lines ar e GE SmartConnect ™ Refrigerator Tubing (WX08X10006, WX08X10015 and WX08X10025).
NO TE: The only GE approved plastic tubing is that supplied in GE SmartConnect ™ Refrigerator Tubing kits. Do not use any other plastic water supply line because the line is under pressur e at all times. Cer tain types of plastic will crack or rupture with age and cause water damage to your home.
