At fi rst you will feel some slight resistance, then it will turn easily and without friction. ► Rotate the display further until it has turned 180° and the hinge latches in.

For technical reasons, TFT monitors are man ufactured for a speci fi c resolution. An optimal, clear picture can only be ensured with the correct resolution intended for the relevant TFT monitor .

The drive tray will open. ► Gently pull the drive tray (2) completely out. ► Place the data carrier in the drive tray with the printed side facing upwards.

Working with the note book Removing the memory card Memorycard In order to protect your data, alwa ys follow the correct procedure for removing the card outlined below . Y ou can stop the memory card via the corresponding icon i n the task bar: ► Left-click on the icon.
Working with the noteboo k Inserting the card Keep the placeholder for the slot in a safe place. When you remove the card again y ou must reinstall the placeholder . This prevents foreign bodies from getting into the slot. 1 2 ► If the eject button (1) is recessed, press it once so that it disengages.

Working with the noteboo k SIM card A SIM Card (Subscriber Identity Module) is a chip card which is inserted i n a mobile telephone or notebook to enable access to a mobile radio network in conjunction with an installed UMTS module. Follow the instructions supplied by the provider of the SIM card.

Working with the note book Y our Port Replicator The Port Replicato r is only available for the LIFEBOOK T4410. The Port Replicator is a device that helps you to quickl y connect your notebook to your peripheral devices, such as a monitor , printer etc.

Working with the note book Connecting the notebook to the Port Replicator If you connect the notebook to the Port R eplicator during operation, problems can occur . We recommend that you switch off the notebook beforehand. The mains adapter must be connected to the Port Replicator when the notebook is connected to the Port Replicator.

Security functio ns Con fi guring the fi ngerprint sensor Fingerprintsens or Fingerprin tsensor Whether or not your device has a fi ngerprint sensor depends on the device con fi guration you have ordered. The fi ngerprint sensor can record an image of a fi ngerprint.
Security functio ns Con fi guring password prot ection in BIOS Setup Utility Before using the various options for password protection in the BIOS Set up utility to increase data security , please observe the following: Make a note of the passwords and keep them in a safe place.

Connecting extern al devices Connecting an external moni tor Y ou can connect an external monitor to th e analogue VGA monitor connection of the notebook. Screen output is limited to a maximum of two screens at any one time (see " Key com binatio ns", Pag e 45 , section "T oggle output screen").
Connecting extern al devices HDMI port HDMIport Depending on the device version, your device may have an integral HDMI port. The HDMI port of your notebook can be used to connect an external ampli fi er , LCD TV or a plasma TV with an HDMI connection.

USB devices are hot-plugga ble. Th is means you can connect and disconnect devices while your operating system is running.
