6 1. PREP ARA TION W ARNING • If the range hood is not installed properly , it could become detached and fall. • Ensure that the metal duct does not touch other metal housing materials, otherwise fire or electric shock could result. 1 This range hood is designed to discharge upward.
7 INST ALLA TION (continued) 3 Run house wiring between ser vice panel and hood location. 4 Prepare the range hood unit. (1 ) The range hood is supplied with the exhaust pipe fixed on its top plate. (2) Pro vide a transition duct (not supplied) to connect the e xhaust pipe and e xter nal duct.
8 2. RANGE HOOD MOUNTING 1 Hold up the range hood unit and inser t it into the opening of the liner . When the 4 securing plates on both sides hav e passed through the top of the liner , tur n them outward to secure the r ange hood on the liner temporar ily .
9 INST ALLA TION (continued) 2 Remov e 4 scre ws which are fix ed to the front cov er . The front cov er s wings open 90° as shown in Fig. CA UTION Do not detach the front cov er from the range hood unit. The hinge ma y be damaged. 3 Align 4 screw holes of the liner and range hood unit, then fix securely using the supplied scre ws and nuts.
10 3. CONNECTING PO WER SUPPL Y WIRES W ARNING • Electrical wir ing should be done b y a qualified person(s) in accordance with all- applicab le codes and standards, including fire-r ated construction. An unqualified person doing the work could result in fire, electric shoc k or injur y .

12 4. FINAL ASSEMBL Y AND CHECK One 40 W light b ulb (not supplied) can be mounted to this range hood. Prior to final assembly , install a light bulb (ordinary type, in the base diameter 17 mm: inter mediate base), rated 120 V -40 W or below . 1 Assembl y Replace the front cov er with 4 screws .
