3 Y our dishwasher cleans b y spra ying a mixture of hot water and detergent through the spr a y arms against soiled surfaces. Each cycle begins with a pre-drain. Next, the dishwasher fills with water cov ering the filter area. W ater is then pumped through the filter and spra y ar ms.

5 Operating Instructions (continued) 740 Series The HEA T DR Y ON option will provide f aster drying since the heating element is on during the dr ying por tion of cycle. HEA T DR Y OFF option sav es electr icity since the heating element is off during the drying por tion of cycle.

7 750 Series Operating Instructions (continued) W ash Cycle Selections Note: Cycle times are approximate and will vary with options selected. Hi-T emp W ash Option When HI-TEMP W ASH ON option is selected, the dishwasher heats the water in the main w ash to approximately 140°F (60°C).
8 Preparing and Loading Dishes Dish Preparation Scrape away large pieces of food, bones, pits, toothpicks , etc. The continuous filtered wash system will remov e remaining food par ticles. Burned-on foods should be loosened before loading. Empty liquids from glasses and cups.
9 Loading the Silverware Basket Mix spoons, forks and knives to prevent nesting. Mixing items gives better cleaning and drying. For saf ety , load shar p kniv es and f orks with handles up . Be sure nothing protrudes through bottom of basket or rack to block the spray arm.
10 Dishwasher Dispenser & Detergents • Use only fresh automatic dishwashing detergent. Other types will cause oversudsing. • Add detergent just bef ore star ting cycle. • Store detergent in a cool, dry location. Moist or caked detergent will not dissolve properly .
11 Dishwasher Dispenser & Detergents (continued) Rinse Aid Rinse aid greatly improves drying and reduces water spots and filming. W ater “sheets” off dishes rather than forming water droplets that cling and leave spots.
12 Care and Cleaning Care of Drain Air Gap If a drain air gap was installed for your built-in dishwasher , check to mak e sure it is clean so the dishwasher will drain properly . A drain air gap is usually mounted on counter top and can be inspected by remo ving the cov er .
13 Solutions to Common Dishwashing Pr oblems Glassware/Flatware Spotted or Cloudy • Check water hardness. For extremely hard water , it may be necessary to install a water softener . (See Detergent Char t.) • W ater temper ature ma y be lo w . A v oid extremely low or high temperatures.
14 Solutions to Common Dishwashing Pr oblems (continued) Dishwasher Leaks • Use only fresh detergent designed for automatic dishwashers. Measure detergent carefully . T r y a diff erent brand. • Spilled rinse aid can cause foam and lead to ov erflowing.
15 Solutions to Common Dishwashing Pr oblems (continued) Dishwasher Does Not Drain Properly • If unit is hooked up to a food waste disposer , mak e sure the disposer is empty . • Check to see if the knockout plug has been removed from inside the food waste disposer inlet.
