2 The controller will determine the temperature to be maintain ed during the hold phase base d on the chilling cycle th at has been completed. If a soft or hard chill has taken pla ce the controller will maintain an air temp erature of 2°c.
Blast Chill & Shock Freeze Operating Instructions. Standard Operation When mains electrical power is first applied to the controller it will carry out a self-test fun ction, for approximately 3 seconds.
4 Pre Chill This program is used to Pre Chill the cabinet prior to the first cycle. This is done with the Blast Chiller empty and is a short time based pro gram of about 20 minutes. It is generally recognised a s the correct me thod of preparing for a blast chill cycle.
Information Whilst in the program selection screen pre ss and hold the dial for 2 se conds, the information screen will be displayed. Rotate the dial until ‘INFORMATION’ is highlighted. Press and release the dial to display the screen showi ng t he last run cy cle.
6 High Temperature: This alarm will only occur in the hold mode only. Probe the product to determin e it is at the correct temperature. If it is at the correct temperature plac e in a storage refrigerato r or freezer and call you r Foster Authorised Service Company.
Electrical Connections. Inputs. L - Mains ‘Live’ supply (115V 230V, 50Hz / 60Hz). 4 terminals. N - Mains ‘Neutral’ supply – 16 terminals. E - Protective Earth – 16 terminals. DOOR - Door Switching connectio n (not voltage carrying). DOOR2 - Safety door switch connection (not voltage carryin g).
Diagnostics Rotate the dial until you reac h ‘Diagnostics’, below left, pres s and release the dial to highlight the com ponent. In this program you can test each of the majo r components on the machine in sequen ce, 1- COMPRESSOR, 2-FAN1, 3-FAN2, 4- DEFROST, 5- ALARM, 6- CC AP (Capacity Contro l), 7- UV-L (UV light if fi tted), ESC (escape).
Profiles. You are now in the pr ogram profiles. Th e controller has 9 operating programs – Pre Chill, Soft Chill, Hard Chill, Hard Chill Max, Shock Freeze, Professional 1, Prof essional 2, Professional 3, Defrost a nd 2 optional pro grams – UV Sanitisation and Information.

12 P13 Change Temp The percentage of a temperature b ased chill cycle, wh ich is passed bef ore automatically adjustin g the air temperature set point to 1°C.
13 P27 Chill Temp Minimum The minimum value that the temperature, which Food Probe 1 must read before the condensi ng system is de- energised in the chill mode of the Professional 1 program, prior to entering the Hold mode of a temperatu re based cycle, which it can be adjusted to by the operator.
14 P40 Chill Temp Maximum The maximum value that the tempe rature, which F ood Pr obe 1 must read before the condensing system is de- energised in the chill mode of the Professional 2 program, prior to entering the Hold mode of a temperatu re based cycle, which it can be adjusted to by the operator.
15 P53 Hold Temp Std The standard temperature, which the air probe must r ead before the conden sing system is de-energised in the Hold mode of the Professional 3 Progra m. Range -15°C to 15°C. P54 Hold Temp Minimum The minimum value that the Hold tem perature set point ca n be adj usted to by the operator i n the Professional 3 program.
16 Note: The fan 1 hold operation does not effect routine defros t operat ion. P66 FAN 2 Hold Operation Determines the evaporator fan relay energisation d uring ‘Hold’ mode. ‘OFF’ = Evaporator fan 2 relay is not energised in ‘Hold’. ‘CYCLE’ = Evaporator fan 2 relay cycles with condensing syste m relay in ‘Ho ld’.
17 NO = No safety door switch fitted. YES = Safety door switch fitted. Note: Usually fitted to the e vaporator fan door on Mod ular Blast Chillers. P79 Door Switch 1 Determines if a d oor switch is fitted or not, and conseque ntly dictates Eva porator Fa n opera tion, UV Sanitisation operation and door alarm activation’s.
NO = No third food probe fitted. YES = Third food probe fitted. P93 Food 3 Offse t Allows the value of Food Probe 3 to be offset allowing for the product temperatu re to be accurately measured. Range -15°C to +15°C. P94 Address The controller periphe ral number.
Foot Print Test operation The foot print test is a method of checking the operati on of the process in a redu ced time pe ri od The foot print test takes ten minutes. The first ten seconds are used for the display test, after that the relays are energised in a simple operating pattern to ensure each are energised.
