7 About Thermal Fuses Y our P ow er Wheels ® 12 v olt batter y is equipped with a bu ilt-in ther mal fuse. The ther mal fuse is a self-resetting saf ety device which automatically “trips” and shuts down operation of the v ehicle if the vehicle is ov erloaded or the driving conditions too sev ere.
8 Children can be har med b y small par ts, shar p edges and shar p points in the v ehicle’ s unassembled state , or by electrical items. Care should be taken in unpac king and assembly of the v ehicle. Children should not handle par ts, including the batter y , or help in assembly of the v ehicle.
9 2 1 Batter y Compar tment Dash •P osition the dash on the v ehicle body . • Make sure the motor harness connector wire is through the groov e in the dash. • Inser t a #10 x 1 / 2 " scre w through each of the two cor ner dash tabs nearest to the passenger compar tment .
10 IMPORT ANT! Carefully apply the labels to the CD’ s. Match the number of the label to the n umber on the CD and the notches on the label to the little tabs on each CD . • Bef ore applying the labels, wipe the surface of the v ehicle and CDs with a clean, dry cloth to remov e any dust or oils.
11 Dash Po cke t Ke y Assembly CD Pla yer •I nser t the ke y chain strap through the opening in the ke y . Wrap the k ey chain strap around the end of the k ey . Inser t the end of the ke y chain strap through the slot in the ke y chain. •I nser t and “snap” the ke y assembly into the opening in the dash, as shown.
12 • Fit the wide notch in the side of a headlight lens under the wide tab on a lens guard. • Press firmly on the inside of the headlight lens to snap it into the lens guard. • Repeat this procedure to assemble the other headlight lens to the remaining lens guard.
13 Assembl y •P osition the windshield so that the wipers face the front end of the vehicle . •I nser t and “snap” the two large tabs on the windshield into the large slots in the dash.
14 •T ur n the seat upside down. •I nser t the fastener end of a short seat belt strap through the slot near the outer edge of the seat. Make sure the side of the seat belt with the f astener faces the outer edge of the seat.
15 • Fit a suppor t to one side of the spor t bar . • Inser t a #8 - 32 x 1.625 " screw through the suppor t, the spor t bar and out through the suppor t. • Fit a lock n ut to the end of the screw . • While holding the lock n ut with the pliers, tighten the screw with a Phillips scre wdriver .
•F it the spor t bar into the holes in the vehicle body . • Push down firmly on a spor t bar suppor t while pulling up on the side f ender to fit the spor t bar into the v ehicle body . • Repeat this procedure on the other side of the v ehicle body .
17 Label Decoration G Proper label application will help to keep the labels looking their best! When applying labels, keep the follo wing guidelines in mind: •W ash y our hands before applying the labels. • Bef ore applying the labels, wipe the surface of the v ehicle with a clean, dr y cloth to remov e any dust or oils.

19 Battery Installation H IMPORT ANT! Use only a P ower Wheels ® 12 volt battery . Use of any other battery will damage your v ehicle. Make sure that you charge the battery for at least 18 hours using the enclosed P ow er Wheels ® 12 v olt charger before operating y our vehicle f or the first time.
20 Battery Care and Disposal I If a battery leak develops, av oid contact with the leaking acid and place the damaged batter y in a plastic bag. Please ref er to the information on this page for proper disposal. If acid comes in contact with skin or eyes, flush with cool w ater for at least 15 minutes and call a ph ysician.

22 Ho w to Operate Y our V ehic le K • Make sure the shifter is in the lo w speed position . • Press down on the f oot pedal . The v ehicle goes forward at a maximum of 2 1 / 2 mph . • Help your child pr actice steer ing to lear n how f ar and how quickly to turn the steering wheel when dr iving f orward in low speed.
23 To Drive Ho w to Operate the CD Pla yer L Adv anced Use - High Speed Drive Disconnecting the High Speed Loc k-Out Ho w to Operate Y our V ehic le IMPORANT! T o av oid damaging the motors and gears, stop the vehicle bef ore shifting between low and high speed.
24 Caring For Y our V ehic le M • Check all scre ws, cap nuts and protectiv e cov er ings regularly and tighten as required. Check plastic par ts on a regular basis f or cracks or brok en pieces. • During snowy or rainy w eather , the vehicle should be stored inside or under a protective co ver .
