6 The s tandard H DSWG 1000 is desig ned to oper ate a single leaf gate . The cont rol box an d mechanic al unit s are separate devi ces. It is necessa ry to find a suitable loca tion to moun t the contr o l box, i.e ., post or wall. Se parate low voltag e and high v oltage c onduits w ill be run between th e contro l box and mech anical un it.
7 For saw -cut installations , obse rve the me thods rec omm ended in Figure 7, above. T he saw-cut m ust be to a depth of 1.5", c lean a nd with no sharp c orners. A fter placing the w ires, it is essential that the wires be h eld tigh tly in place b y a foa m backing p rior to pouring t he sealant.
8 electrical servi ce depen ds on the dist ance of the operato r from the breaker pan el. Refer to Table 1 to d etermine the correct wire size. The NOMINAL col umn is the ideal distance fro m the breaker p anel to the op erator for a given wir e size and voltage.

10 PLACING THE HDSWG 1000 MECHA NIC A L UNIT Remove the rain seal from the shaft of the HDSWG 10 00. SAV E IT! The rain seal w ill be used la ter. Next, re move the cove r from the HDSWG 1000 MECHAN ICAL UNI T by remov ing the 1/4 inch diameter bol ts on each side of the Uni t and set it aside.
11 INSTALLING THE HDSWG 1000 CONTROL BOX The H DSWG 1000 CONT ROL BOX may be mounte d rem otely from the MECHA NICAL UNIT. Four m ounting holes are provided a t the ba ck of the CONTROL BOX. T hese should be used to m ount the CONTROL BOX to a solid, f lat surfa ce.
12 CONNECTING THE AC WIRING 115 VOLT INSTA LLATION S: Starti ng at the HDSW G 1000 4 x 4 h andy box p roceed as fol lows: 1. The BLA CK wire attaches to the 115 V AC HOT wire, normally black. 2. The W HITE w ire attaches t o the 115 VAC NEUTRAL wire, norma lly w hite.

15 The L imit Sw itch contac ts of th e tw o Bi-Parting u nits nee d to be wired in se ries. Both lim it switch conta cts m ust be closed be fore a connectio n is m ade to the limit sw itch input at the Control B ox to stop the mot ors at the Open or Closed posit ion.
16 THREE TERMINAL RECEIVERS If a three terminal receiver is to be used, the #1 terminal of the receiver is normally COMMON to both the auxiliary transformer (powe r input) and the ra dio re la y. Most ra dio manuf act urers labe l this termina l as 24 VAC.
17 WIRING A KEYPAD, CA RD READER OR TELEPHONE ENTRY SYSTEM Thes e dev ices a ctiva te the H DSWG 1000 by a relay c ontact closur e within t he device. Typical ly, two wires or terminals are pro vided by the devi ce to operate the gat e. Follow th e manufacturers inst ructions on locat ing these conn ection s.

19 SET TIN G TH E LI MI T SW I TCHES RIGHT -HAN DED OP ERAT ION With the cover re mov ed from the HDSWG 1000 MECHANICA L UNIT, and th e arm conn ected to the gate as well as to the HDSWG 1000 Opera tor, posit ion the ga te at its fully closed positio n.
20 TIMER TO CLOSE SETTING The T imer to Close is co ntrolled by the switch in position #3. If Sw itch #3 is set OFF, the Tim e r to Close functio n w ill operate a fter the ga te has opene d. If Switch #3 is set ON, the Time r to Close func tion w ill be disable d.
21 Triac Lig ht stays ON. Lock light is ON. 6. Term inal #6, Stop,: Both Ope n and C lose T riac lights ar e momentaril y ON, then bo th Open and Clo se Triac lights go OUT. The Loc k ligh t go es OU T. Th e st op ligh t i s ON as long as the wire is he ld on the te rmina l and the st op light goe s OUT when the wire is re moved.
22 MAXIMUM RUN TIMER The H DSWG 1000 is equi pped with a Ma xim um Run T imer that is Factory set to turn the HD SWG 1000 OFF if a Limit Sw itch command is not received within 45 S econds after a Comman d to Open or Close is g iven.

25 AVOI D E NT RAPM EN T: St ay away f rom the path of the g at e and all moving part s (gate arms, etc.) at all tim es. Keep clear of the pinch points ide ntif ied be low.. Install g uards or othe r s afe ty fe atures to prevent access to pinch point areas.
