4 Thank you for buying a F isher & Pa ykel Intuitive ™ dr yer . We hope you enjoy using the Intuitive ™ dryer as much as we have enjoyed designing it. W e’v e developed this dryer to treat your clothes with the utmost care , dr ying them gently so they will look better for longer .

To re duce the risk of electrocution, injury or fire: ■ Read all instructions carefully befor e using this dr yer . ■ If y ou are replacing an old dryer , mak e sure that childr en cannot get trapped inside it by (for example) removing the lid.
6 I mpor tant Safety I nstructions Note: Pr essing the POWER button does NOT disconnect the dryer from the power supply , even though the lights are out. ■ When disconnecting a dr yer that is plugged in, to av oid damage to the cord or junction of the cord plug, pull by the plug rather than the cor d or junc tion of the cord plug .
7 I mpor tant Safety I nstructions ■ If it is unavoidable that fabrics that contain vegetable oil , cooking oil or have been contaminated by hair care products be placed in a tumble dryer , wash them first in hot water with extra detergent – this will reduce , but not eliminate the fire hazard.
8 I nstallation I nstructions Read the Impor tant Safety Instructions on pages 5 – 7 before you start installing the dr yer . L ocation Requirements ■ The dr yer must not be stor ed or installed in an area that is exposed to water or the weather .

10 Exhausting Designing and Installing a New Exhaust Duct System ■ The dr yer must be exhausted outside . This will r educe dr ying time, pr event the build up of lint and moisture in the room in which it is locat ed and reduce the risk of fire.

13 Electr ical Supply Requirements The dr yer r equires a 230 – 240 V single phase 50 H z sinusoidal AC supply . It must be connected to an individual branch cir cuit rated for at least 30 amps and protected by its own fuse or circuit breaker .

16 Getting Star ted Quick ly A. Sor ting ■ Sort clothes of similar t ypes and loads that take similar times to dr y . (Refer to Sorting page 27). B. L oading ■ L oad clothes no higher than the transparent section of the lint bucket. (Refer to L oading page 27).
17 Getting Star ted Quick ly F. H o w Dr y? ■ Choose how dr y you want to dry your clothes, There are 5 dryness settings you can choose between, EXTRA DRY , EXTRA DRY/DR Y , DRY , DA MP/DRY , or DAMP . (Refer to page 20 for descriptions). Press the HOW DR Y button until the setting you want is lit.
18 F abr ic T ype The Intuitive ™ dr yer is capable of drying many different fabric types. On the display scr een the F ABRIC T YPE button is located next to the POWER button. Use the UP and DOWN arrows to alter the fabric type you wish to dr y with.
19 F abr ic T ype LIGHT The LIGHT setting is ideal for delicate or heat sensitive items. Use this setting when car e -labels r ecommend low heat settings or for garments with a synthetic fibre content, wher e overheating could cause damage to fibres .
20 How Dr y? AU TO SENSING Aut osensing is automatically selected when your Intuitive ™ dryer is turned on. When selected, your dr yer automatically senses the dryness level of the load and turns off when the clothes are dry.
21 Display Scr een The display screen on the right hand side of the panel shows you what the machine is doing during the cycle. The display screen also shows you the diff erent dr ying options a vailable. When you first turn your Intuitive ™ dr yer on it will briefly display the message “ Welcome t o Intuitive” .
22 Pr ogress Scr een During the cycle the display screen shows you the progr ess of your load by displaying a series of messages that indicate what stage the dryer is up to. The display screen also scrolls thr ough any options you may have chosen. When you first start your dr yer the words SENSING Dampness will appear on the scr een.
23 The Options F or all the options mentioned below select the OPTIONS menu (by pressing the UP Options arrow). Use the Options arrows to scroll thr ough the options until the one you want is displayed. Pr ess ADJUST to selec t it and HOME to r eturn to the main screen.
24 The Options 3. END OF CY CLE BEEPS Y ou can change the number of beeps your Intuitive ™ dr yer sounds at the end of the cycle. Scr oll to Options screen 3, use the ADJUST button t o move to your desir ed pref erence. P ress HOME to save your selection.
25 Lif ec ycles® Y our Intuitive ™ dryer has a range of special, pre-programmed Lifecycles ® to make doing the laundr y even easier . ■ P ush the LIFECY CLES button. ■ Use the OPTIONS button to scroll thr ough the 3 Lifecycles ® menus, or you can press the LIFECY CLES button repeatedly .
26 Lif ec ycles® L3 Bulky Items BLANKETS Y ou will need to check the care label to make sure that the item can be dried in the dr yer . It is a good idea t o include 4 – 5 medium sized towels along with the blanket for cushioning. This will reduce shrink age from over tumbling .
27 Using Y our Dr yer Check the care labels inside the garments to determine whether the garment manufacturer r ecommends tumble- dr ying. Sor ting It is best that y ou sort your garments before placing them into the dryer . Sort into loads of similar t ypes, and loads that take similar times to dr y .
28 Using Y our Dr yer Lint Bucket The Intuitive™ dr yer ’ s lint removal system is unique . Unlike other dr yers , the Intuitive™ dr yer automatically remov es the lint for you , from the lint screen – all y ou have to do is tip the lint out! The lint filter is hidden behind the lint bucket.
29 Lid L ock Y our Intuitive ™ dryer locks it ’ s lid at the start of the dr ying cycle, providing added saf et y for y ou and your family while it is operating. This lock ensures the lid cannot be opened while the drum is rotating. A lidlock symbol (padlock) appears in the corner of the screen when locked (it disappears when unlocked).
30 Cleaning Clean your dryer with a soft damp cloth and wipe dr y. Do not use scouring cleaners as they can damage the paint and plastic sur faces. Removing the Lid Y ou can remove the lid for cleaning . Open the lid fully, hold one side with one hand and tap the other side with an upwards motion.
31 If Y our I ntuitive™ Dr yer Beeps F or Help Y our Intuitive ™ dryer is capable of diagnosing its own troubles. If your dryer is displaying a message on the display screen and is sounding a musical series of beeps every 5 seconds, it has a problem that you may be able t o solve using the checklist below.
32 Tr ouble Shooting Pr essing POWER does not turn the dryer on Is the electrical cord plugged in? If not plug the cord in. If there is a switch, is it swit ched on? C ould your household power supply be at fault? (If your plug is suitable, try plugging another electrical appliance into the same outlet).
33 Tr ouble Shooting Linting Problems Is the lint bucket full? When lint r eaches the top of the transparent section of the buck et it needs emptying. Have you separated lint -shedding garments (e.g. to wels) from lint r eceiving garments (e.g. synthetics).
