2 F or Great Britain only Impor tant! This appliance must be earthed. F use replacement The mains lead of this appliance is fitted with a BS 1363A 13 A fused plug. T o change a fuse in this type of plug, use an AST A approv ed fuse to BS 1362 type and proceed as follow s: 1 Remo ve the fuse cover and fuse .

Make sure that y ou keep the remote away from w a ter and steam. Do not immerse and take care not to drop the remote control into w ater.
7 Caring f or your dinnerware The combination of high temperatur es and dishwasher detergent may cause damage t o some items if they are washed in the dish washer . Remember , if in any doubt about any aspect concerning items washed in the dish washer , follow the instructions from the manufacturer of the items, or wash the item b y hand.
8 Cutlery basket T o reduce the risk of injury, w e recommend loading knives and sharp utensils with handles facing up. Mix spoons, knives and forks within each section to stop cutlery nesting together and to ensure the water circulates fr eely. Keep stainless steel from touching silv er cutler y to avoid staining .
9 Rack ing featur es Removable small items c ontainer T o optimise the cutler y space within the basket, the small items container can be placed elsewhere on the base rack.
10 Rack ing featur es Racking features will v ar y depending on model. Stemw are notches These notches help support long-stemmed glassware. Glass supports These clip on the rack wires to g ive your tall glasses extra stability .
11 Rack ing featur es Adjustable racks Y ou can adjust these independently of each other to any height: 1 F old up to unlock the rack. 2 Adjust the height to suit by sliding up or do wn. 3 F old down to lock in position. F old the racks away if you need the space .
12 Loading suggestions When loading your dr awer , make sure that you place items so that wat er coming from the rotating spray arms belo w can reach all areas (wash per formance will be reduc ed if i.
13 W ater hardness and dish washing What is wa ter hardness? Hard water is water with a high c oncentration of minerals such as calcium and magnesium. In soft water , this concentration is low .
14 DD24/DD60 models Find out about wat er hardness in your home, then use the table belo w to determine how much detergent to use f or each wash program. See also section ‘ W ater hardness and dishwashing ’ . F or information on which program to use f or your load, see your ‘Quick start guide’ .

16 Suitable detergents and where t o place them Note: Y ou may see other , equally suitable types of dishwasher detergent on the shelves of your supermarket.
17 Unsuitable detergents These types of detergent are not suitable and ma y damage your dishwasher or lead to a service call that is not cover ed by warranty .
18 Using rinse aid W e recommend using liquid rinse aid regularly to g ive the best drying results. Rinse aid gives a streak-fr ee, sparkling clean look to glass and chinaware. It also prev ents metal from tarnishing. The rinse aid dispenser is on the inside of the drawer , underneath the detergent dispenser .
19 Setting up the water softener Impor tant! Only some models (those with a letter ‘H’ in the model name) have a built-in w ater softener. Models with water softener are not currentl y available in New Z ealand and Australia.
20 W ater softener Notes: If your water hardness is abov e 625ppm/36 gpg, we highly r ecommend you completely fill the detergent dispenser for all pr ograms except Rinse and the rinse aid setting should be at 5. If your water hardness is abov e 625ppm/36 gpg, the wash performance of your dishwasher will decline .
21 W ater softener Impor tant! The water softener must alw ays be filled with granular salt made especially for dishw asher water softening systems. W e do not recommend the use of cooking salt lik e table salt, rock salt or pellets as they may contain impurities that will impair or diminish the life of the w ater softener.

Disconnect the dishw asher from the power supply (unplug or switch off at the circuit break er) and allow all its parts to cool before any cleaning or maintenance. Holiday time If the dishwasher is not going to be used for some time , we recommend y ou leave it clean and empty .

If a dishw asher cleaner/descaler is used, you m ust run a wash program with detergent immediately after ward to prevent an y damage to your dishwasher . The dishw asher must be used with the filter plate, drain filter and spr ay arm correctly in place.
24 User maintenanc e instructions - DD24/DD60 models Cleaning the spray arm and filter pla te T o remove and clean the spray arm and filter plate 1 Unplug the dish washer or turn it off at the power supply .
25 T o replace the filter plate and spray arm 8 Bef ore replacing the filter plate, ensur e the O-ring is correctly positioned on the base, as shown. 9 Orientate the filt er plate and lower it into place: make sure its kidney-shaped hole aligns with the matching recess in the dish washer base.

29 T o replace the spray arms and base rack 9 Clip the spra y arms back onto their mounting valves. Be careful tha t you don ’t forc e them too hard and apply too much pressur e on the wash pump housing. Y ou should hear them click into place. Rotate them with y our hand to check that they are located properly .

33 If there is a fault How do I know if there is a fault? Y our dishwasher will self‐diagnose and let y ou k now by beeping continuously and showing a fault code on the wash program panel inside the dra wer (all models) and in the display (Classic models only) .
