3 I ntr oduc tion This User Guide explains how to operate and maintain yo ur new appliance properly and safely . Please re ad the whole guide carefully bef ore star ting to use your oven. Impor tant! It is impor tant that the User Guide should be retained with the appliance f or future ref erence.
4 Saf et y and warnings This symbol alerts you to hazards such as fir e, electrical shock , or other potential injuries. It also warns you of things tha t may cause damage to your o ven. General safety precautions Read all the instructions before using the ov en.
5 Do not install or use a damaged appliance. If you receiv e a damaged product, contac t your dealer or installer immediately . Children or persons with a disability that may limit their ability to use the appliance should have a competent person instruct them in its use.

7 Setting the clock As your o ven is connec ted to a po wer supply for the first time, a t one will sound and the clock display will light up . The clock display will show ‘0:00’ and the colon ( : ) will flash. Next, set the clock . Clock must be set befor e oven can be operated T o set the clock The oven clock has a default 24 hour display .
8 O ven displa ys Oven mode dial & display T urn clock wise to select your desired oven mode. When the mode is set, the lights and cooling fan will come on. T emperature dial & display T urn clock wise to select the oven temperature you want to cook at.
9 O ven modes Y our Fisher & P aykel Aer oT ech™ oven has nine cooking modes plus W arm and Self Clean. These modes use differ ent combinations of elements and the convection fan to give you maximum flexibility when cook ing. T rueAero: convection fan plus fan element T rueAer o is a very flexible method of cook ing.
10 Wa r m W arm is a constant low heat of 165°F (75°C). I t is excellent for keeping cooked food hot and warming plates and serving dishes. T o reheat food fr om cold; use T rueAer o and change to W arm when the food is hot, as this mode will not bring cold food up t o a temperature high enough to k ill any harmful bacteria.
11 Self Clea n This oven f eatures a pyrolytic self-cleaning c ycle that takes care of the mess and grime that is traditionally associated with oven cleaning . During self clean cycles the oven reaches higher temperatur es than it does for cook ing and this burns off and breaks down soil and gr ease deposits.
12 Shelf positions Optilevel™ The Optilevel™ shelving system allows you t o choose the optimum cook ing level within the oven. Placing the shelv es on or bet ween the shelf support runners provides 13 cook ing positions to choose from. Organize the shelv es pr ior to heating the ov en.
13 Accessories Broiling sy stem The Broiling system is desig ned to prevent hot fat and juices in the br oil pan splatter ing throughout the oven. It is intended to be used as one complete unit, however pieces can be interchanged .
14 Using the oven contr ols In double ovens selec t the cavity which oven you want by using the appr opr iate oven mode and temperature dials . Pushing the oven cavity selector button lets you toggle between the cavities, f or example if you are setting A utomatic / Delayed start programs.
15 T o set automa tic/delayed time cooking 1 Check that the clock shows the correct time. 2 Select the oven mode and temperature . 3 Choose the upper or lower cavity (for double ovens only) using the oven ca vit y selector button. 4 Decide how long the food will take to cook, allowing time for preheating if necessary.
16 T o canc el automatic/dela yed time T urn the oven mode and temperature dials to ‘OFF’ . After eight seconds the clock display will revert to the time of day and the oven will return to manual operation. Av oid using foods that will spoil while waiting for the cooking c ycle to beg in.
17 O ven operation Cooking probe Use your cooking probe to accurately judge when your meat is per fectly cooked. The probe can be used on T rueAer o, Aer oBak e, Roast, Aer oBroil and Bake modes. Using the co oking probe 1 Select the oven mode and temperature and preheat the oven if appr opr iate - Roast does not requir e preheating.
18 Return the oven to manual mode by pressing the button. T ur n the oven mode and temperature dials t o ‘OFF’ . The cook ing probe can be used with aut omatic cook ing func tions. If the probe r eaches the set temperature bef ore the stop time is reached the pr obe will tur n the oven off .
19 Thick pieces of meat take longer to cook than thin pieces of the same weight. Meat cooks by absorbing heat from the outer sur face to the middle . The thick er the meat the longer it will take to cook . Roasts containing bones cook more quickly than boneless or rolled roasts due to the bone conducting heat throughout the meat.
20 Tips f or successful broiling F or best results allow the br oiler to warm up for a minute or two befor e putting food in the oven. Use the timer to time the broiling pr ocess if desired. All Broiling is carried out with the oven door closed . W e recommend using the Broiling system pr ovided with your Aero T ech™ oven.
21 Dehy drating/defrosting Tips f or dehy d ra ting T o obtain a high quality dr ied product, select only unblemished, mature fruit. W ash fruit thoroughly and pat dr y , peel if desired. Unpeeled fruit will take longer to dr y . Remove stones, st ems or pips if necessar y .
22 User selec t options All about user select mode User Select mode allows you to configure some of the settings displa yed on your Aer o T ech™ oven control panel .
23 Tips f or using Sabbath Mode In double oven models, differ ent temperatures can be selected for upper and lower ovens by using their temperature dials .
24 How to change fr om 24 hour to 12 hour time display 1 Enter the User Select mode and turn the oven mode dial clockwise until appears in the display . 2 Pre s s to selec t either ‘24H’ or ‘12H’ in the clock display . 3 P ress the button to activate.
25 Contr ol panel lock Locking the controls disables all the buttons and dials which can be useful when cleaning oven sur faces or prev enting accidental bumps and unauthor ized use. The control panel can only be locked when the oven is off . T o lock the contr ol panel P ress the button and hold down for fiv e seconds.

33 Roast & Cooking probe W e recommend you use the Cooking Pr obe to accurately judge when meat is cooked to your pref erence. ‘ Time per pound (450g)’ is a rough guide and should only be used to estimate when the meat will be ready . Cooking with Roast, T rueAero , AeroBake, and Aer oBroil will take less time than with Bake.
34 Cleaning Impor tant! Do not use harsh/abrasive cleaning agents, wax es, pumice cleaners, polishes or commercial o ven cleaners to clean your oven. Impor tant! If you choose to use a commer cial sta.
35 Cleaning the porc elain enamelled sur faces The oven interior and inner door liners are por celain enamelled and are cleaned during the self clean cycle. Impor tant! DO NO T USE ANY OVEN CLEANERS, OVEN CLEANING PRODUC TS OR ABRASIVES ON THE Porc elain enamel.
36 Self Clean mode All about the Self Clean mode This oven f eatures a pyrolytic self clean cycle. During a self clean c ycle the oven r eaches higher temperatures than it does for cooking and this burns off and breaks down soil and gr ease deposits. A smoke eliminator and active venting system remo ves and breaks down the smoke, fumes and odors.
37 Using the Self Clean mode 1 Remove oven shelves , shelf suppor ts (see ‘Cleaning ’) and all other cook ware/utensils from the oven bef ore using the Self Clean mode.
38 Self Clean - delayed start Y our Aero T ech™ ov en can be set to star t a self clean c ycle at your con venience: 1 Check the clock shows the correct time of day . 2 Select the Self Clean mode by turning the oven mode dial. 3 Select the maximum temperature using the temperatur e dial.
39 T r ouble shooting P roblem P ossible Cause What to do Ov en d oes n ot work P ower supply is not connected. Have service company/electr ician check power connections, wiring and fuses. Clock is not set due to power cut or failur e. Clock must be set befor e the oven can be used.
40 P roblem P ossible Cause What to do Oven door won t open Oven is still in self- clean mode. Y our oven door will unlock when it has cooled to a saf e temperature. Oven light does not work Light bulb has blown. Replace light bulb. Ref er to Maintenance for details .
41 Maintenance How to change the o ven light bulbs The oven is illuminated b y three 12 volt/20 watt halogen bulbs. These have a ver y long life , but if you should need to r eplace one, follow these steps: 1 T urn the oven off and allow it to cool.
