Hardware Platform 10 Installati on Guide 14 To connect the CER controller to your 10/100base-T network, you can use any standard Category 5 (CAT5). A sui table cabl e is supp li ed. Attach one side to the RJ- 45 socket marked "Ethernet" on the front panel of the uni t and the other to your ethernet hub or switch.
IP configurati on CER International bv 15 IP configuration Your CER controller uses the common TCP/IP protocols to provide the connection to the cli ent machi ne over Ethernet. Like any serve r or de vice, it needs a 'uni que' IP number to be addressed.
Hardware Platform 10 Installati on Guide 16 For Field Commander controll ers: Assigni ng an IP address on a Field Commander The factory default IP address of the controller is: 10.
IP configurati on CER International bv 17 Note: For se curity reasons, it i s strongly recommended to change thi s password. See the User's G uide for in structions. In case you for got the address of FieldComma nder, you can force it to accept a new IP address by way of ARP and PING commands, see later this chapter.
Hardware Platform 10 Installati on Guide 18 Caution: Be aware that, when your Fi eldComma nder is assign ed a dynamic address, you may not know which ad dress to enter in order to access it.
IP configurati on CER International bv 19 Force new IP address using ARP+PING When Fiel dComman der is outside of your subnet or or you don't recall it's current address, you cannot open the configurati on web pages to change the IP setting s.
Hardware Platform 10 Installati on Guide 20 For ELS controllers: Assigni ng an IP address on an ELS controlle r The IP address o n an ELS controll er is defined i n a configurat ion fi le and set to 10.0.0.1 by default. To change thi s IP address, connect to the ELS using an US B keyboard, SSH or the ser ial console.
IP configurati on CER International bv 21 For EWS controllers: Assigni ng an IP address on an EWS controll er The IP address o n an EWS controll er is defined i n a configu ration fi le and set to 10.0.0.1 by default.
