- 1 - CoPilot Ov er vie w W elcome to CoPilot Live! CoPilot will provide you with accurate, tu rn-by-turn spok en directions and str eet-level maps that guide y ou to any destination you specify . If y ou take a wrong turn, CoPilot instantly r e-calculates your r oute .

After entering one or more destinations, start driving and enjoy CoPilot’ s spoken instructions, continuously updated maps and ET A’ s, and automatic route r ecalculation capabilities. The Driv er Safety Screen displa ys a text-only scr een and is the recommended vie w for safe driving.

- 11 - Contact Integr ation CoPilot allows you to link dire ctly to your Contacts to re trieve ad dress information. With just a few of qu ick taps of the stylus, y ou can ente r a contact’ s home and/or work addr ess as your destination.
- 13 - 2. Enter a latitude and longitude in the appropriate format, using the dr op-down pic k lists for N or S , and E or W . 3. Once the lat/long has been matche d, you ha v e the option of assigning a name to the point. T ap Next to add the lat/ long you entered as a stop on y our trip itinerar y .
- 15 - Itiner ar y Scr een T o see you r trip Itinerary , tap the View button (second from left on the toolbar) then tap the Itinerar y button in the nested toolbar . The T rip Itinerary is a scrollable set of driving dir ections for the curr ent trip.
- 17 - Map Modes CoPilot gives you a choice of sev eral different displa y modes for the Map Screen: 3D P erspective CoPilot’ s two-dimensional default displa y mode can be changed to a thr ee- dimensional perspectiv e based off an isometric camera angle.
- 19 - Picking Stops Fr om the Map CoPilot enables you to pick a st op off the map when you don’ t know the exact address of your destination. In any mode, tap and hold on y o ur target location on the map, then add it as a stop. 1. In any mode, tap and hod on your target location on the map .
- 21 - Detour Fea tur e CoPilot’ s Detour Feature allo ws you to pr evie w an alternate route bef ore deciding whether or not to take it. P erfect for situations in wh ich traffic ha s suddenly slowed ahead of you, the Detour Feature will generate an alternate r oute.
- 23 - Menu Options T ap the top of either the Map Screen or the Driv er Safety Screen to access the menu bar . Then tap Menu and select Options . Routing In the Routing tab, the vehicle type options are Automobil e or RV . R V routes fa vor major r oads and a void sharp turns and U-tu rns where ver possible.
- 25 - Fa vourites Ta p t h e Favor i te s tab to open your List of F av ourite Addresses . T o change the assignment of your w ork or home address, highlight your choice on the list, then tap Menu and choose Set as wor k or Set as home . NO TE: POI’ s cannot be edited, you will get a “No matches found” err or message if you tr y .
- 27 - Modes Menu CoPilot has four modes of operation on the mobile de vice. T ap the pop-up Mode menu at the bottom of the screen to select Guidance , Na vigating , Wa l k i n g , or Planning Mo de . Guidance Mode In Guidance Mode, you enter one or more destinations, then tap the Start Driving butt on to start driving and receiv e guidance.
- 29 - Select Stop Scr een In this screen y ou add stops to your trip . There are nine different types of stop entry to choose from: • Enter a new Ad dres s • Program or enter a Home address • P.
- 31 - Map Scr een The Map Screen displa ys when you ar e trav eling at less than 16 k.p .h. or are at a standstill. It combines a large map displa y and concise text instructions. When y ou’ re within 1 kilometer of a turn, CoPilot automatically switches to the map .
- 33 - T rip Planning on Y our Mobile De vice Y ou can use CoPilot on y our mobile device f or tr ip planning. Planning Mode allo ws you to run a trip on your mobile device ev en when you're not in y our car . Y ou'll get driving directions and maps that y ou can use for r efere nce before your trip begins.
- 35 - Installing CoPilot to Y our Desktop CoPilot Live comes fully installed and re ady to us e for route guidance on y our mobile de vice . Howe ver , you will want to install CoPilot to your desktop if 1) y ou’ d like to use the extensive trip planning featur es available with a de sktop installation, or 2) you’ re adding a data region.
- 37 - Licence Update The CoPilot desktop softwar e contains street-le v el maps f or all of Europe, and CoPilot is offered with diff erent licences that allow you to us e some or all of these maps on your mobi le device.
- 39 - Tr i p to select a corridor along a route between two places; Region to select a whole countr y or region. (3) Do wnload the Data: (3a) T o a Storage Card in y our Mobile Device: 1. Ensure that y our mobile device is connected to the desktop/laptop.
- 41 - City Radius Data Selection This method allows you to quickl y select data in the shape of a cir cle surr ounding any city on the map . In the Data Download Wizar d you ty pe a city name and country abbreviation or postal code and enter the distance you would lik e the radius to extend ar ound the city , then click Next .
- 43 - 2. Enter a City , State or ZIP code (addr ess optional) within the area that you would lik e to download. Click Next . 3. Click an d hold the left mouse button and drag the curs or to draw a box around a desired ar ea. The size of the area will be displa yed in the toolbar .
- 45 - 3. T o search for a POI, click the Points of Inter est tab, enter a City , St ate or a ZIP Code and click the Find button. Y ou ca n speed up your s earch by selecting a POI Category and/or Ty p e . Highlight a selection, click Select , then Add Stop .
- 47 - Check Include EU Highway Netw ork to download CoPilot’ s complete European Highway Network along with your data. This additional download r equires appro ximately 59 MB of space on your mobi le device.
- 49 - Tr i p Tr a n s f e r When you use the Tr i p download option, CoPilot transfers whole trips to your mobile de vice. The trip you cr eate, including its Itinerar y , is transferr ed along with the surr ounding data corridor , and it becomes the curr ent trip.
- 51 - 4. In the next screen y ou'll see th e data from y our file sorted into columns. If th e columns you see in the screen ha ve not sorted the address data corr ectly , you need to indicate which delimiter CoPilot should recognize when it separate s th e fields in your file into columns.
- 53 - Editing Custom Plac es in the Database After custom places hav e been added to the database , they can be edited at any time. Select Manag e Custom Places from the T ools menu, then highlight the custom place y ou wish to edit, click Edit , and make your changes.
- 55 - Run T rip Edit T rip Generates the route for the trip you entered. Displa ys a detailed Tr i p Summar y , Map and Driving D irection s . T akes y ou back to the T rip Planner window where you can edit stops on y our existing trip or click Clear to delete all stops and begin a new trip.
- 57 - Print Help T akes y ou to the standard Windo ws Print options for printing the active windo w that contains your ma p or driving directions. Activate the map or dir ections by clicking on it or selecting it in the Windo w menu. Select Print T ravP ak.
- 59 - More Detail Less Detail More Detail button or Detail > S ho w Mor e in the Map menu. C lick once to increase the le vel of d etail you see on the map by one increment without changing the z oom lev el. Less Detail button or Detail > S how Less in the Map menu.
- 61 - Pick Stops Options (T ools Menu) In this window y ou can change the wa y you vie w your desktop ma ps and various application settings. For example, in the General tab you can choose the measur e of distance (miles vs. kilometers), and the Map tab lets y ou adjust the appearance of featur es on the map such as roads and points of interest.
- 63 - Refer ence: CoPilot on Y our Desktop The following is a guide to the main screens y ou will see as you use CoPilot on your desktop/ laptop computer for trip plan ning. Map W indo w Menus and toolbar buttons to acce ss all of CoPilot's desktop featur es.
- 65 - T rip Planner W indo w (Contacts) Enter a person’ s first or last name and hit <Enter>. CoPilot will search y our Contacts database for matches. Select the Contacts address type (as defined in Outlook) to get the appr opriate addr ess, then click the Add Stop button to add it to your Itinerary .
- 67 - Fuel Cost Calcula tor T o calculate an estimate of y our fuel costs for a trip, select Fuel Cost Calcula tor fr om the Tr i p menu befor e you run y our route. Fill in the a verage cost per gallon of fuel that y ou expect to pa y , and the distance per gallon yo u can expect to get in your v ehicle.
- 69 - On the follow ing pages you'll see ho w you can communicate with someone on the road fr om within CoPilot (the Live Mode sections) and what it's like to be the driv er using CoPilot when someone else is communicating w ith you (the Dr iving with Live sections).
