8 SELECTING THE HOB USES OF THE HOB The gas hob has thr ee diff erent burner s izes to s uit diff erent types of cooking: To ens ure max i m um burner eff iciency on ly use pots and pans with f lat bases appropria te to the bur ner size used. Larger bur ner (Rapi d) - use a large pan f or food such as ch ips.
9 HEAT CONTROL The hotpl ate contro l knobs turn a nticlock wise fr om 'OFF' to 'HIGH' an d then to 'LOW '. You can adjust the heat b y turning the contro l between the h ighest and lowes t settings. T hese are shown as a large and a sm all flam e s y m bol.
10 USES OF THE DUA L GRILL CAUTION - A CC ESSIBLE PARTS M AY BECOME HOT WHEN THE GRILL IS IN USE. CHILDREN SHOULD BE KEPT AWAY. 12 USES OF THE T OP OVEN The top o ven is the s maller of the two ovens. It is heated b y elements in the top and bottom of the oven. It is designed f or cook ing sm aller quantit ies of f ood. It giv es especi ally good res ults if used to c ook fruit c akes , sweet or savo ury flans or quiche.

14 USES OF THE MA IN OVEN The oven is heat ed by an elem ent aro und the fan s ituated beh ind the b ack panel. T he f an dra ws air from the oven and t he elem ent heats th e air whic h circulates in the ove n via the v ents in the b ack panel.
15 HINTS AND TIPS · Arrange the shelv es in the re quired posit ions before s witching the oven ON. Shelf positions are num bered from the bottom upwards.
16 The oven tem peratures are int ended as a guide onl y. It m ay be necessar y to increas e or decreas e the temper atures by 10° C to suit ind ividua l preferences and requ irem ents.

18 USES OF DEFROST FEATURE This m ain oven f unction defrosts most f oods faster than mor e convention al m ethods. It is particular ly suitable for delicate fr ozen foods which are to be served cold e.g. cre am filled gateaux , cakes covered with icings or fros tings, chees ecake s, biscuits , scones, etc .

32 FITTING THE STABILITY BRACKET It is recom m ended that if the appliance is to be installed with a f lexible sup ply pipe , a stabilit y brack et (SK.4 729.A) is fitted, and is a vailable f rom your sup plier (see Impor tant Safet y Requ irem ents, page 28).
