45 Oper ating Instructions 1 Safety The safety aspects of this appliance c omply with accepted technical standards and the German Appliance Safety Law . How ever , as manuf ac- turer s we also believe it is our responsibility to familiarise you with the following safety instructions.
46 • Overheated fats and oils catch fi r e quickly . Y ou should supervise cooking when preparing foods in fat or oil (e.g. chips). • Switch off the cooking zones after use.
47 • Make sure that no acidic liquids, e.g. vinegar , lemon or descaling agents, are spilt onto the hob fram e, since these cause dull spots. • If sugar or a prepar ation with sugar comes into contact with the hot cooking zone and melts there it must be cleaned off immediately with a scr aper while it is still hot.

49 The K ey Featur es of Y our Appliance • Ceramic glass cooking surface: The appliance has a ceramic glass cooking surface including two rapi d-heating cooking zones with spe- cial high-performance radia nt el ements, and two induction cooking zones.

51 Function and the Way the In duction Cooking Zone W orks A copper wire induction coil is beneath the ceramic glass cooking sur- face. This generates electr omagnetic fields, which act dir ectly on the base of the pots and pans and not, as with other heating up m ethods, first heating the ceramic glass.
52 The following letters and functions ar e displayed only with the two in- duction cooking zones. 1 f = Erro r display flashes if the cooking zone is activated and – no pan is on the cooking zone or – unsuitable pots and pans are used p = P ower function lights up when the P ower f unction is activated.
53 Suitable Kitchenwar e for Induction Cooking Zones Po ts an d Pa ns • In principle all pots and pans with magnetic bases ar e suitable. These are steel, steel-enamel as well as cast-iron pots and pans. • High grade steel pans with a mixed metal base (sandwich base, e.
54 Note: Please note the diameter of the pan base when buying new pans, since the manufacturer s usually specif y the top edge diameter of their pans. Automatic Pan Sensing The induction cooking zone does not function when unsuitable pans are used.

56 Oper ating the Hob T ouch Contr ol Sensor Field To oper ate the T ouch Contr ol sensor field place your finger fr om above flat onto the requir ed field until th e appr opriate displays come on or go out or the requir ed function is carried out.
57 3 When an individual cooking zone or the entire hob is switched off, any residual heat is shown with an h (for “Hot”) in the digital display for the appropriate cooking zones. Cooking Zone Selection To select the requir ed cooking zo ne touch the corr esponding sensor field for approx.
58 3 If several cooking zones ar e being used simultaneously , the requir ed cooking zone must be selected by to uching the ap pr opriate sensor field before adjusting the heat setting. The decimal point in the display shows which cooking zone has been selected.
59 Switching the Casser ol e Zone On and Off 1. Select the appropriate cooking zone. 2. Set the requir ed heat setting. 3. To switch the casserole zone on or off place your finger flat on the “booster” touch contr ol sensor field, until the cont rol indicator comes on or goes off.

61 Cooking with the Automa tic Heating-Up Function All four cooking zones of the cooking field can be contr olled in nine stages and have an automatic heating-up function: – 1 , Lowest h eat setting – 9 , Highest heat setting – a , Heating-up function.

64 Locking/Unlocking the Contr ol P anel With the exception of the “On/Off” sensor field the control panel can be locked at any requir ed time during cooking in or der to prevent ad- justing the settings such as when wiping over with a cloth. This function is also su itable as a child safety feature.
65 Timer A cooking duration can be set with the integr ated timer for all cooking zones. When the end of the cooking duration is reached, the cooking zone switches itself off automatically . 1. Using the cooking zone sensor field, select the requir ed cooking zone and set the r equired heat sett ing.
66 3 To set the timer more quickly , leave your finger on the + or - sensor field until the r equired time is r eached. If the - sensor field is operated fir st, the time setting will begin at 99 minutes; if the + sensor field is operated fir st, the time setting will begin at 1 minute.
67 Uses , T ables and Tips Advice on Cooking with an d without Automatic Warm up The automa tic warm up f unction is suitable for: • dishes that start off cold, ar e heat ed up at high power and do not need to be continually watched when cooking on the selected heat setting, • dishes that ar e put in a hot frying pan.
