7 Installation Installation Location The appliance should be set up in a well ventilated, dry room. Energy use and efficient performance of the appliance is affected by the ambient temperatur e.
Installation 8 Do not obstruct the space underneath. The back of the cabinet may be placed close to the wall but must not touch it. DO NOT install in places with restricted ventilation. Adjust the level of the appliance by screwing out the adjustable foot, or feet, at the bottom of the cabinet using your fingers.
Installation 9 ☞ 1. Tilt the appliance slightly towards the rear and pr op it securely . 2. Unscrew the door hinge scr ews (K) and remove the hinge pin br acket (1). 3. Open the door a little way and take it out downwards. 4. Unscrew the upper pin (A) and scr ew it into place on the opposite side.

12 Starting up and tempe r atu r e r egulation ☞ 1. T urn the tempe r atu r e cont r ol kno b (2) in the di r ection of “-16°C ” . The g r een light (1), the amber light (3 ) and the r ed light (5) come on and the r efrige r ation motor starts up .
13 Switching off the appliance To switch off the appliance, turn the temper ature regulator to position "0". If the appliance is not going to be u sed for an extended period: ☞ 1. Remove all deep-frozen packages as well as ice-tr ays. 2. Switch off the appliance by turning the temperatur e regulator to posi- tion "0".
Freezing and storing fr ozen food 14 ☞ 1. Press the FROSTMA TIC button for freezing of fresh food. The amber light illuminates. To utilise the maximum r ated freezing capacity , switch on the fast freeze switch 24 hour s before freezing is due to start (the amber light illuminates).
15 Stor age Goods Symbols/Fr eezing Calendar • The symbols on the dr awer s show different types of fr ozen goods. • The number s indicate stor age times in months for the appropriate types of frozen goods.
16 Defr osting During use and when the door is opened, moisture is deposited as fr ost inside the appliance, particularly on the evaporator . This frost must be removed fr om time to time using the soft plastic scraper supplied. Under no circumstances use har d or pointed objects for this purpose.
Cleaning and Car e For hygienic reasons the appliance interior , including interior acces- sories, should be cleaned regularly . Warning! • The appliance may not be connected to the mains during cleaning. Danger of electrical shock! Before cleaning switch the appliance off and remove the plug fr om the mains, or disconnect from the power supply .
18 Ener gy Saving Tips • Do not install the appliance near cooker s, r adiators or other sour ces of warmth. High ambient temperatur es cause longer , more frequent operation of the compr essor . • Ensur e sufficient air cir culation and exhaust at the appliance base and at the back wall of the appliance.
What to do if ... 19 Appliance cools too much. Green light does not light up, yellow light lights up when the FROSTMATIC function is activated. Green light faulty . Please inform your local Service Force Centr e. Y ellow light does not light up, when the FROSTMATIC function is activated, appliance is on.
20 Symptom P ossible Cause Remedy Heavy build up of frost, possibly also on the door seal. Door seal is not air tight (possibly after rever sing the door). Carefully warm the leaking sections of the door seal with a hair dryer (on a cool setting). At the same time shape the warmed door seal by hand such that it sits correctly .

22 T echnical terminology • Refrigerant Liquids that can be used to a generate a cooling effect ar e known as refriger ants. They have a relatively low boiling-point, indeed so low , that the warmth from the food stor ed in the fridge or freezer can cause the refriger ant to boil and vaporise.
