4 Extended Operation/Extreme Conditions It is believed that a condition called Raynaud’ s Phenomenon, which affects the ngers of certain individuals, may be brought about by exposure to vibration and cold. Exposure to vibration and cold may cause tingling and burning sensa- tions, followed by loss of color and numbness in the ngers.

Make sure the decals are legible and that you understand and follow the instruc- tions on them. If a decal cannot be read, a new one can be ordered from your ECHO dealer .
8 1. POWER HEAD - Includes the Engine, Clutch, Fuel System, Ignition System and Recoil Starter . 2. THROTTLE TRIGGER LOCKOUT - This lever must be held during starting. Operation of the throttle trigger is prevented unless throttle trigger lockout lever is engaged.

W ARNING The plastic shield is for use with the Nylon Line Head only . Install Metal Shield when using plastic or metal blades, or serious injury may result.
G rass T rimmer /B rush C uTTer O pera TOr ' s m anual 11 IMPOR T ANT Semi-automatic line heads must be used only with plastic debris shield with cut-off knife. Using nylon line heads with metal debris shield can result in trimmer damage, caused by operation with excessive line length.
12 A C B 1. If installed, remove nylon line head, upper xing plate, shield plate, and plastic shield: a. Align locking hole in upper plate with notch in edge of gear housing and insert head locking tool (A). b. Remove line head (B) by turning it clockwise until head is completely off of shaft.

14 throttle lInkage and IgnItIon leads 1. Close choke and remove air lter cover . 2. Place inner throttle cable in large hole of carburetor swivel (A). 3. Loosen nuts (B) and place threaded end of throttle linkage in bracket slot. Finger tighten nuts (B).

Keep movable parts of the attachment away from objects that could become entangled or thrown, and surfaces that could cause loss of control.

26 B C D Exhaust Port Cleaning Level 2. Parts Requir ed: As needed: Heat Shield 1. Remove spark plug lead from spark plug, and remove mufer cover (2 screws). 2. Place piston at top dead center . Remove mufer (A), heat shield (B), and eyeplate (C).

During the break- in period your engine performance will increase and exhaust emissions will stabilize.
28 Drive Shaft 1. Loosen two (2) screws (B) and remove center locating screw (C). Pull gear box and shield from drive shaft housing. 2. Pull exible cable from the drive shaft housing, wipe clean and recoat with a thin coating[15 ml (1/2 oz.)] of grease.
