Setting up your TV 9 Setting up y our T V Installing remote control batteries T o install remote control batt eries: 1 Open the batter y compar tment cover . 2 Inser t t wo AAA b atteries into the batter y com par tment. Make sure that th e + and – sym bols on the batteries match the + and – symbol s in the batter y compar tm ent.

Setting up your TV 11 Connec ting an HD MI device Y our T V has t wo HDMI jacks on the back. For the location of the jacks, see “Back jack s” on pa ge 7. T o connect an HDMI device: 1 Make sure t hat your T V ’ s power cord is unplu gged and t he HD MI device i s turned off .
12 Setting up your TV Connec ting a VCR for playback Y ou can connec t a VCR to the A V or S -V ideo jack . For the location of the jacks, see “Bac k jacks” on page 7.
Setting up your TV 13 Connec ting a compu ter T o connect a computer: 1 Make sure t hat your T V’ s power cord is unplu gged an d th e computer is tu rned off. 2 Connect a VGA cable to the VGA PIC jack on t he back of your T V , then connect the oth er end of t he cable to th e VG A jack on the computer .
14 Using your TV U sing your T V T urning your T V on or off T o turn your TV on or off (stand by mode): 1 Plug th e power cord into a power outl et. 2 Press (power). Y our T V turns on. 3 Pr ess again to turn off your TV . When you turn off y our T V , it goes int o standb y mo de.
Using your TV 15 Scanning f or channe ls The first time you turn on your TV , you need to scan for channels available in your area. Y ou r TV s kips any channel that does not have a signal. Y our T V stores the channel information in t he channel list.
