Chapter 6 44 What are Locks? What are Locks? Locks allow you to p assword-protect programming ba sed on ratings, or on a channel -by-channel basis. When you have locke d th e re ce iver : • If you try to access a loc ked item or open th e Locks menu, the receiver d isplays a message asking you to enter th e password .

Locks 49 Locking or Unlocking the Fron t Panel Locking or Unlocking the Front Panel This lock keeps anyone from usin g the front pa nel buttons unless they enter the corr ect password, but it does not lock the remote control buttons. This option is only available on TV1 menus.
Chapter 6 50 Tips Ti ps • If the receiver displays a message prompting you to enter a p assword, the receiver is locke d. • If you want to unlock th e receiver or any specific lock, use the password for the TV ou tput you’re watching. For example, use TV1’ s passwor d to unlock TV1’s locks and TV2’s p assword for TV2’s locks.
