When you bo ot the computer, it com pares the system configuration infor ma- tion with the current hardware co nfiguration.

Run the Dell Diagnostics to verify that the com- puter is operating properly. (See Chapter 4, “Running t he Dell Diagnostics ,” for instructions.

These particular error mes- sages are not covered in this guide because the errors that generate these messages can be resolved only with a technician’s assistance.
Running the Del l Diagnos tics 4-1 3 • Correcting er rors in the system configur ation infor- matio n does not r esolv e a prob lem. • The computer’ s clock/calendar stops. • The speaker no long er f unction s. The p rob lem cou ld be a failure of the system timers as well as a failure of the speaker itself.
