Before Y ou Begin 11 2 Before Y ou Begin This manual provides procedures for re moving and installing the com ponents in your computer . Unless otherwise no ted, each procedu r e assume s that the fol.
12 Before Y ou Begin 2 Ensure that the computer and all attached devices are turned off. If your computer and attached devices did not automatically turn off when you shut down your op erating system, press and hold the power button for about 4 seconds to turn them off.
Before Y ou Begin 13 CAUTION: Before touching anything inside your computer , ground yourself by touching an unpainted metal surface, su ch as the metal at the back of the computer . While you work, periodically touch an unpainted metal surface to dissipate static electricity , which could harm internal components.

Replacing the Front Bezel 1 Align the clamps of the front bezel to the front panel and press it towar ds the computer until the front be zel clamps snap into place.

CAUTION: Do not install ECC memory modules. 3 Align the notch on the bottom of the memory module with the tab in the memory module connector .

26 PCI and PCI Express Cards 5 Remove the card. • F or a PCI card, grasp the card by its top corn ers, and ease it out of its connector . • F or a PCI Express x16 card, push th e retention mechanism on the card connector as you grasp the card by its top corners, and then ease the card out of the connector .
PCI and PCI Express Cards 27 6 If you are removing the card permanently , install a fille r bracket in the empty card-slot opening. NOTE: Installing filler brackets over empt y card-slot openings is necessary to maintain FCC certification of the com puter .
28 PCI and PCI Express Cards See the documentation that came with the card for information on configuring the card, making internal connections, or otherwise customizing it for your computer . 4 If this is a new card installation, remove the break-away metal plate .
