24 G.Cooling System 1. The cooling system should b e inspected on a regular basis fo r rest rictions to air fl o w through the heat e xchanger core, and f or leaks. 2. The heat e xchanger core should be cleaned by m oderate (50 psi) pressure air or w ater , but not b y br ushing.
25 MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE A. Daily Chec ks 1. Before starting engine: a. Ch ec k the fu el le vel.** b . Check the f uel strainer w ater trap and d rain off contami nants if present. c. Check the engine oil lev el.** d. Check the h ydraulic oil le vel. e.
26 . OIL CHAR T Apply a f ew drops of en gine oil or use a spra y lubricant. Apply the oil to both sides of pivot points . Wipe off any e xcess. Star t engine and operate mo wer briefly to insure that oil spreads ev enly .
27 P erformance Adjustments A. High Speed T racking Adjustment If mow er tracks to one side wi th both lap bars in fully f orward position: 1. Chec k air pressure in all four tires: a. Pressure should be within specif ied ranges and balanc ed side-to-side.
28 C. Dec k Corner Ball Wheel Roller Settings 1. Matching the set heights of the ball rollers on the four cor ners of the mower deck to the desired cut height will pre v ent edge scalping and minimize any side-to-side v ar iance in cut height. 2. There are three he ight adjust ment holes in the brack et that mount the ball roller s to the deck.
29 F . Deck leveling Pr ocedure 1. P ar k the mower on a flat pa ved surf ace, engage the parking brake, shut off the engine, remo ve the k ey from the ignition switch, disconnect the spark plu g wires and using the second foot pedal, lowe r th e mowing deck into the 4" height of cut position.
30 Fuel & Lube Specifications A.Fuel Specifications Use good quality fuel to get t he correct power and per - formance from t he engine. The recommended f uel spec - ification for Caterpillar engines is shown below. Cetane number 45 minimum Viscosity 2.
