10 OPERA TING INSTRUCTIONS A.General 1. When Mowin g: a. Keep adults, children, and pets away from the area to be mowed. b. When operating this mowe r , in the forward direc - tion, do not allow the speed control ped als to rap - idly return to Neutral.

23 MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE A. Daily Checks 1. Before starting engine: a. Check the fuel level.** b. Check the engine oil level.** c. Check the hydraulic oi l level. d. Check the hydraulic hose s for leaks, abrasion, kinks, twists, or a flattened condi tion.
24 . OIL CHAR T Apply a few drops of engine oil or use a spray lubricant. Ap ply the oil to both sid es of pivot points. W ipe off any excess. S tart engine and operate mower briefly to insure that o il spreads ev enly .
25 Performance Adjustments A. Engine RPM Check and Adjustment 1. V erify that the speed contro l pedals are in the neutral position, the parking brake is on, and the P TO drive is disen gaged. 2. Start the mower and let it run at approximately half throttle for 3-5 minutes to bring the engine up to operating temperature.

29 SLOPE GAUGE Do not mow on inclines with a slope in excess of 20 degrees ( a rise of ap proximately 3 feet every 10 feet). A ridin g mower cou ld overturn and cause serious inju ry. If operating a walk-behind mowe r on such a slope, it is extremely difficult to maintain you r footing and you could slip, resulting in ser ious injury.
